Your all dumb, I doubt it was any single group of player(s) opinion that made the dev's call. Its ICONIC to the series, it holds something dear TO THE SERIES AND THE DEVELOPERS; it was ultimately their choice, stop bickering like a bunch of baboons over something so trivial.

So ho many of the tittled 103+ FF games was it in that made it a series icon? Just curious, since you used those terms.
