Question about Job "AF Armor"

I want job armors on my chocobo >.<
Some that when full equiped give it unque abilities.
Like PLD gives it resistence to slowing down or such.

Crafted gear can be you ladies fashion design gear. I like the traditional look of the Job gear and hope it stays that one (one color, one job); think of it this way:

Black Mage job is released: colors they can be: Black, blue, white, red, green.
White Mage job is released: colors they can be: Black, blue, white, red, green.
Red Mage job is released: colors they can be: Black, blue, white, red, green.
Green Mage job is released: colors they can be: Black, blue, white, red, green.
Blue Mage job is released: colors they can be: Black, blue, white, red, green.


I'm sorry but I don't want White colored Black Mages running around with Red colored White Mages, and Blue colored Red Mages with Green colored Blue Mages with Black colored Green Mages. (See how stupid and confusing that would be?)

You want multi-color options, stick to crafted gear, you want specific gear, stick to job gear. (As we all know the AF gear will just get dated in a few months time away, if history has anything to speak for itself)

Thats silly because if a White Mage doesnt wear their Job Specific gear wouldnt they be running around with different colored clothes anyway?

In XI there was multicolored AF gear.









Jobs dont equal colors, Jobs equal Role.

Yes they have traditional colors which i agree that the Job Specific Gear should first come at that, but We should be allowed to change colors, and customize our gear after.

Thief = Thievery, not Green Clothes
White Mage = White Magic, not White/Red Clothes. etc.

To SE, having different colored clothing meant newer tiers, but Yoshida is allowing us to change colors, so why should it stop at Job Specific Gear.

They all have different colors and retain the white mage look.

I really dont want eveyone running around looking the same, that would be boring.

I'm definitely hoping we're allowed to dye Job armors as well! Though, I will say, I do understand how some may feel that seeing White Mages in anything other than white-colored clothing to be a bit strange at first. Still, for me, the red accents is the biggest and most important part of a WHM design. I did a quick color mock-up for WHM, MNK, and PLD.



The example at the end shows what a possible mixing and matching may look like (I wasn't sure if the hood was the actual head piece or if it's part of the body piece). Now, a blue-colored cloak may not exactly seem very WHM, but I think shape/silhouette and design will make up for that. Each Job armor has very unique and recognizable shape/design that I feel color won't distract from.

Not pictured in this picture are the pauldron pieces, but still, a very strong and recognizable silhouette.

It's interesting to note that in Japan, the Paladin is actually called Knight. So I personally see no problem in seeing one in dark-colored armor.

I do so hope SE will allow us to customize color for Job armors. I think it'd be fantastic to have that option there for those who want it and of course, for those who enjoy the traditional and classic colors to choose that as well. If it bothers you too much, you're of course welcome to not party with that yellow-clothed WHM or that pink-clad BLM... but I'd hope the community would never come to be like that.

Yes, please. Also... who cares about it having to ONLY be the traditional colors when the gear is structured the same. If there were to be higher tiers to the job artifact gear, I'd shoot for them to look more grand in how they are structured and not the same friggin' gear, but with a color alteration.

Ah thank you =) it's really easy, just overlay a color layer! These ones were much easier to work with than say, the Dragoon and Black Mage armor due to the dark colors they start out with.

I like the Green on the mnk and purple on pld, very sexii
