While it seems reasonable now with only 7 classes to have dying, later on when there are more, each class will be defined by it's colour of AF gear. I would be open to being able to darken or lighten the colour.

yeah i hope they make af high level only, i dont want to use other pieces just because the pants are low level

you missed a select few from the CC series, as well as FF:WotL, FFIV (had jobs although you couldn't switch them; they did resemble their job).
And thanks Kirisame for providing those links.

Ah sorry yes I did not hit those... The cat will be more diligent in the future ^^
It is a pleasure to help out in any way I can...
The cat is bemused =-.-=

Not to mention RPGs or Anime/Visual Novels that reference FF even use the same color scheme (hence how you know it's being referenced..) As I said before, it's truly not that big of a deal because 'AF Gear' is just 1 set of armor out of a flood of many that will exist and already currently exist. If it's the best gear it will be only for a short time then something new and better comes out regardless.
In most MMOs the best gear generally all look alike or you can barely make it out because of all the flames and neon lightshow it puts off -- Which is generally how you know its the best gear.

I'm glad they're sticking with the traditional colors for job armor. I'd be a little offended if I saw a paladin running around in jet black armor.

All i have to say is, i am pretty much sure 99% of you knew the gear was gonna be U/U so why did you think you was gonna be able to dye it?

Never confirmed to be U/U, actually. Also, I'd like to reiterate that there are multicolored AF in the dats already, but not for every class. They just can't complete them in time I'm willing to bet. Or they convinced themselves that players would bitch about it and so they stopped production on multiple versions.

I won't lie, I think it's a dumb decision. The way games are now, everyone should be unique. Who cares if it's that color back in the day, I don't want to look like anyone else.
Whatev I guess, it's a lost cause for me.
