    SMN > Pet handling question

I have been working on a11s and the situation is as follows: I reach the Lapis phase of the fight and Garuda does not stop attacking the boss. I click OBEY while I attack the orbs and the Egi just keeps wasting DPS on Cruise Chaser who's invulnerable at this point during the fight.

How do veteran Summoners deal with this part of the fight to force Garuda to attack the orbs/balls?

    Thank you!

    Aerish,

Are you talking about "Guard" or "Steady"?

    Thank you

This is my batllemode on smn, as you can see, i use only 2 orders, passiv (no attck, and following) and obbey ( Auto attcks only, so i can manage others eggi's spells by myself)

    That's what I figured.

I will give it a go today because that's a lot of DPS I'm losing there and could not figure out how to resolve it even though I manually handle all of Garuda's actions.

    Thanks again!

Hmm that is odd, you should just be able to hit Obey and it will ago attack the target.

Maybe try making a macro /pac "Obey" <t> or use Heel to make her drop target, she should then start attacking whatever you are.

I am not very familiar with macros in general.

    /pac "Obey" <t>

Would that string force Garuda to attack the target I am focusing on?

    Thank you!

So I used the string you suggested and put it as a macro, have tried with a dummy and seems to work. Will go into A11 normal to see if it works during the lapis/shield phase.

I also found this other macro somewhere online, seems useful as well:
    /micon "Shockwave" pet Garuda-Egi
    /pac "Shockwave" <t>
    /pac "Aerial Slash" <t>

You don't need a macro to make a pet switch targets. Simply target something and use the standard "obey" action.

Yes, we know, I suggested a macro if he was having trouble. Thanks for reading things the whole way through.

In regards to other macros, I found putting aerial slash on the same button as painflare has a nice double aoe synergy. Useful on things like EDDs pauldron or the adds in a9s.
