    that same exact logic applies to 2.0 though, snatch people up till theyre bored of it and move on either to the next new MMO or back to one of the other ones released in 2012 (GW2, Tera, Blade and Soul). it would leave only niche fans as the masses who got bored realized they wanted an action MMO.

    Guild wars 2 also minimized how many abilities each class has in comparison to GW1 which had tons and tons of abilities.

    HOWEVER, not only are there still more abilities to learn than just 15, but each class is able to equip more than 1 type of weapon with each weapon giving a different set of abilities to equip.
    you can also change your weapon by just a push of a button at any given time allowing you to change which abilities to use according to your current situation.

    this new 15 ability thing SE is doing might not bode over well in the long run.

    also i think they said a cap raise after ps3 witch would add more(also a raise every 1-2years after that), i am thinking this might be one of the reasons they simplified it too(spells and rest of game). hopefully they thought to fix the ps3 launch so late and all the issues that a higher slant in things after first cap an just make it a little more simple for now. but that is just me dreaming lol.

    btw I believe there should be enough action at 2.0, we ll get pvp and stuff so the follow skill we got at 1.20 atm "should" be base skill for pvp as well

    edit: and I prefer pvp like in Tera or L2, which are nearly 1 shot/kill for most of class or at worst Aion. WoW pvp is out of question

    From the table listed in the class reform post, which now i doubt you readed.
    15 slots are reserved to the class, with 10 more slots for skills from other classes. 25 skill at level 50

    Games with better gameplay haven't managed to make a significant difference to this franchise's numbers.

    Not that the fans really care about gameplay in the first place. Otherwise they wouldn't glamor 90's FF gameplay and wish they would bring it back. MMO players are a different entity, but why go after them? They'll change game after a few weeks anyway.
