    I have to agree with this. I gave DCUO a shot finally since it's free now, and the combat is hella fun. Button combo's rock!!

    Or.. since they are currently rewriting everything for 2.0, maybe they still have time to copy Skyrim's combat. I've had difficulty pulling myself away from that, even to hit 50 here.

    I personally like the battle style in XIV. Server response time for actions and abilities is effectively masking its full potential. It feels numb, and incomplete. With new servers and further action/ability balance I can only imagine how entertaining it could be.

    Yeah, action-based fighting (like Phantasy Star Online/Universe, Star Ocean/Tales of, Tera, etc) is ten times better than auto-attacking garbage. But that's the route SE is headed, and nobody can stop it at this point.

    Now you are demanding the franchise to have actually good gameplay? You are 10 years too late for that.

    It is telling that a franchise with superior gameplay (Tales of) is vastly outsold by franchise with no gameplay (Final Fantasy). It is also telling that the "fans" want the franchise to go back to not having any gameplay like "the good JRPG's of the generation" (Lost Odyssey).

    It is a hole that was not dug only by the developers but the fans who don't know what they want. Fans that put tradition on a pedestal while sacrificing gameplay in the process.

    Use a gamepad it makes it way more fun. if you dont have one use your ps3 controller, it works wonders on the action level. even with auto attack i actually get a sense of action with having to time my ability use, and and just watching my character whoop butt.

    besides, what is action on a controller supposed to be? mashing the a/x button? gtfo >.<
