Game Lagging or just me?

Hello Everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but this is probably the only place I visit on this Forum (General Discussion), so I figure I can get answers quick.

I just upgraded my Asus Laptop (G73JH); added an SSD HDD and quicker RAM to it, reinstalled WIN7 and FFXIV. I used the same settings as before the upgrade and was online the last 4 days.

Recently I've been getting some LAGS, more than usual before the upgrade. It usually occurs with the environmental changes (RAIN, WIND, DUST, etc.) Sometimes I will get the "No Server Response" message (forgot what it actually says, but something in that matter).

Anyways, I haven't played the game for about 3-5 WEEKS while waiting and trying to upgrade my laptop. Thought I post to see if anything have change while I was offline that might effect my performance.

If it's my laptop I am going to /cry. I played the game on my desktop too (pretty hardcore desktop) and getting lags as well... but not as much as the laptop (but that is common sense, since my desktop is more of a monster than my laptop).

Well, any input would help. Thanks!

Hi Chanse. If it helps, I was getting some lag on Friday (Nov 25, 2011). It dropped me enough times that I decided to wait more before playing.

You may want to check your laptop's stability with a huge download in Internet Explorer and seeing how quickly it times out on you.

There's better ways, but I'm not an IT person, so I couldn't tell ya

Yes, Friday was the worst... maybe people got tired of shopping and decided to log on at once.. LOL. I'm going to bring my laptop into work and test it out... hopefully big boss doesn't walk in as I'm doing my Leves. I guess I can always say "I'm testing out the the laptop for our next production!" LOL. Thanks for the info, gonna do some more testing.
