As one man sad here, it is not a sci-fi. The world must have many similar things not to be frightened, to be comfortAnother planet with the same colored seas, same air composition, same types of trees, many of the same/similar animals, and humans just like us. All of that stuff that surrounds us every moment of play and is astoundingly similar to real life, that's minor. But only one circle in the sky, that's major. That's gamebreaking and totally ruins my immersion.
Putting aside the fact that Eorzea had two moons for a moment...
Hate to break it to you, but Earth's moon is perfectly visible during the day nearly every single day and its orbit is such that its position in the sky relative to us and the sun varies thus giving us the phases. Eorzea's moon is quite exotic compared to that given that it always follows the same path in the sky in perfect opposition to the sun from our vantage point, is only ever visible at night, and yet still manages to have phases rather than always being in either a state of lunar eclipse or full moon depending on how perfect the opposition to the sun is.
Why do we see the moon in daylight? - http://www.space.com/7267-moon-daylight.html

I think you either are looking into this too hard or you got a lot of free time.
I shoot fire from my hands and fly about on a golden unicorn irl

Have you forgotten that this world DID have two moons? One of them fell and Bahamut busted out, true, but that doesn't change the fact that this world is different.
If you blind a triclops in one eye so they only have two left, are they suddenly human? No, of course not - they're a maimed triclops. The same goes for this world - this is a two-moon world, where one of the moons has been destroyed.

Okay, so this thread is saying that Eorzea is a direct clone of Earth.
So where is Africa?
Where's Canada?
Exactly.![]()
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥

There is a great deal about the world which is different. They keep a core that is relatable and has its feet in fantasy themes. There are plenty of fantasy landmarks which make the world feel more than just a copy of earth. The crystal structures in Eastern Thanalan, The crystalised landscape of Mor Dhona or the floating isles of the Sea of Clouds.

Classic 'Fed up waiting for patch so find something to complain about' thread.
I mean seriously.
What's the point of this thread?
Is the OP expecting the mods to feed this back to the developers and the developers are going to change the entire world for them?
It's delusional.

I feel like clone is a poor word to use, because it insinuates that Hydaelyn is an exact copy of earth. However, Hydaelyn's landmass is vastly different from Earth's, and consists of far fewer continents. The core of the planet is a large, sentient Aether crystal. The universe is potentially infinite, and therefore it is entirely possible for there to be other stars and planets like ours. (Our Moon is actually visible during the day at times, btw, not only at night).
On top of that, there is nothing to imply that Hydaelyn is even in the same universe as Earth. Given that Hydaelyn itself is a living, sentient entity, complete with a physical plane and an aetherial one, the similarities in certain environments (churning mists and axys lla are still a part of Hydaelyn) aren't exactly far fetched.

Limsa Lominsa keep your pirates, and your ships covered in musty mold.

As for the Dalamud. Correct me, if Im wrong, but it was a handmade "moon", created by alagans to keep Bahamut. So, the planet has just one natural satellite
