Heavensward Job Appreciation Thread

If you took up a heavensward job, and use it frequently, this thread is for you. Why did you pick your job, and what was your reasoning for picking it over the standard jobs in A Realm Reborn? Do you think you'll use it for Stormblood? Or are you going to switch to something else for 4.0? Note: This is not a complaint thread. This is strictly a thread for fans, and users of 3.0s jobs.

Dark Knight: Very good at what it does, which is deal damage as a tank, and also much easier to hold aggro with compared to Warrior/Paladin I find, especially in lower level content. Will I take it into Stormblood? Certainly, however it won't be my main.

Machinist, it was a fun gun class to play and I like the turrents so yea ill eventually lvl it in storm blood as well.

Astrologian. It gets a lot of flak, but I think the end result became my favorite healer. I've leveled all magic classes to 60, and of all the current healers, White Mage, and Scholar just don't feel as right as Astrologian does for me. Diurnal stance lets me cast regens that a white mage can't, and time dilation can make a chosen party member immortal-like. There's also the high healing Nocturnal stance, which has amazing defense shields. It gets even better if you manage to draw a bole card. I love this class, and I am likely to use it as my main, though Red Mage is reminding me a lot of it, and just might be my alt in 4.0. Tldr: Id probably had quit the game if not for Astrologian.

Most of my time in FFXI I was a DRK and was sad when I joined and couldn't be a DRK. Jumped on it as soon as it dropped. While I grew accustomed to PLD and never left it as my main, my DRK is geared and leveled and I drive it around for fun like driving my first car again.

Astrologian and even thought it's not my main (I'm still a warrior), I like the fact that I can be a shield based healer without using pets (I was a scholar in ARR, but I don't like the total lack of customization of the pets AND how they're so clunky to maneuver).
That and I have a fond likeness for the tarot cards.

Now I just wish that healers don't have to dps and I'll probably make it my main. Until then, tanking a go go baby!

DRK. Holds aggro very well. Good damage. Cool moves, and its job storyline was really good. Taking it into 4.0 as my main. Highly doubt they will release a new tank this expansion. I will try RM and level it to 70, but it wont be my main.

Honestly the DPS is extremely simple once you figure it out.
