    Palace of the Dead

I just came back to the game and maybe this is a stupid question but can you lvl up characters in the Palace ?
I know that all your lvls start over when you enter like my paladin which is lvl 60 If I enter with him, he will go back to lvl 1.
But if I take my lancer at lvl 1 into it and lvl it up to 60 inside will it be lvl 60 outside or will it be at lvl 1 outside and 60 inside ?

the lvl inside has nothing to do with the lvl outside. however, you will get some exp for your outside-lvl, so your 1 lvl lancer will get some lvl-ups. so your lvl 1 lancer will be lvl 60 inside and maybe lvl 10 ouside, if you finish the dungeon (i have no idea how much exp and lvl ups you will get, this is just an example).

You only get experience for your character outside the dungeon upon successful completion of a run. The amount awarded like and is similar to the bonus completion you get for a levelling roulette, and as such essentially can fulfil the same purpose. People can, and have, levelled entire jobs via Palace of the Dead. I dont recommend doing this, however, since the pace inside the dungeon tends to be too fast to really learn proper full rotations and the like leading people who gi this route tending to be... let's say less than great at their job outside of it.

You also gain experience for your character inside the dungeon at a greatly accelerated rate, but this doesn't apply to anything outside the dungeon. Your level inside persists as long as you dont reset the save slot, so you could easily be level 60 inside but only level 15 outside.

As stated, you can use Palace of the Dead to level up and I'd argue that it's *not* a loss of skill, long as you're a good enough player already and willing to spend an hour or two on the striking dummy. Or just do some normal dungeons once in a while to learn your stuff. Don't neglect it just because of this.
One run of floors 1-10 gives quite a lot of EXP - upwards of half a level sometimes, so it's actually a really good way to gain levels too.

it is a very fast way to level up actually. spamming 51-60, a run takes 20-25min and grant a fifth of your level past 50, (until a 8th-9th when you reach higher level) so you basically do level in a a few hours.
Assuming you'd spam them quickly and do everything to complete every run in an optimal time. You could probly do 50-60 in 2-3 days

For lower levels (esp. farming 1-10), it's easy enough and Pomanders of Strength are plentiful enough that you can eat one just to clear the dungeon a little faster. People still save them to shave seconds off the boss rather than minutes off the dungeon, for some reason. A full run takes just over 10 minutes at a medium-fast pace, and the strength and haste buffs last for seven minutes. It's honestly a waste to not use them.
