Checklist Feature

Hello there,

as I was crafting today and I had to gather lots of items for my crafts I came up with something, that would be totally awesome for ffxiv: A checklist menu like a grocery list.

How this would work out?
You can right click any item you want to and click "Add to checklist". Then a small popup appears where you can input the ammount you need and it is added to your list, which is a tiny ui-element anywhere on the screen that displays the ammount as well as the name of the item. Also there should be 3 more buttons:
- remove item from list
- mark as gathered (the item gets crossed out)
- subtract one (like when you're gathering an item 12 times you can subtract it every time you get one of the item. this could be made automatically though).

That would actually be a very convenient feature and probly not too hard to implement

I completely agree! I have a bit of an issue with my working memory, so I currently have to write down my list of objectives on paper.

I would either like this idea, or at least an ability to create sticky notes which remain on the screen.

I agree that it would be nice to have this in-game (where it could also see what materials we already have), but in the meantime for anyone who hasn't found it yet, www.ffxivcrafting.com has a really good system for tracking needed materials.

You select all the items you want to make, and it will identify all the base materials you'll need, all the intermediate components you need to get or make, let you keep track of which you already have, and mark them off as you get them.

It even provides tips on getting those materials, with info on which materials can be vendor purchased and where, where they can be gathered from, which mobs drop them... It's a really great tool.


(My only very minor quibble with the site is that it's a little confusing where to start, because the prominently displayed "Crafting Calculator" is exclusively for when you want to make one of every recipe that exists within a given level range. If instead, you want to make something that's actually useful, then you want to start with the "Recipe Book" link, or perhaps with the "Equipment Profiler" if you're making gear. Find the items you want to make and select "Add to Crafting List". Once you've done that for all of them, go to the "Crafting List" link at the very top of the page, verify it shows what you want to produce, and click "Craft These Items". That'll bring you to the materials checklist.)
