Whack-a-Mole Unable to open the map

I accepted the quest, Whack-a-Mole from Arenlona at Red Rooster Stead in Cedarwood, Lower La Noscea. I then proceeded to trigger and defeat 2 out of the 3 moles. I forgot about the third and went back to get more quests. After a short while (10 min maybe?) I wanted to finish the quest, but when I tried to view it in the "Map" section it said:

"Unable to open the map at this time."

In addition, the red circle stopped showing. I was able to walk to the location but it no longer registers on the map. I then abandoned the quest and I'm unable to reproduce, however I have a screenshot posted here. I have seen this before when trying to say, click a leve unlock quest. However, this is just a low level generic side quest. All I can think of is that it glitches out somehow.

1.Accept Whack-a-Mole
2.Defeat 2 out of the 3 moles.
3.Run around for 10 minutes, I may have entered the Mist during this, not sure.
4.See if you can view the quest when clicking the Map button.
