    BLM in 4.0

    With the announced pruning of the bloated skill bar, remove the current iteration of Enochian, too. Make it a proc or something, a simple buff that sometimes occurs and can be used to use your big CDs.

    BLM in ARR wasn't broken, there was no need to "fix" it and the added timer was uncalled for.

    While I feel that 2.x BLM was a tiny bit too simple, I would have rather that 3.x expanded on the proc mechanics instead of adding another buff timer.

    I'd like to see Fire IV basically replace Fire I for 60+ to reduce or eliminate the need for that button, then have some added and/or modified procs to keep players engaged and having to pay attention to maximize their rotations.

    yeah.. I didn't feel like a black mage this 3.x. I felt more like a SCH, SMN or professor because I was under a buff. 2.x BLM was "blast blast blast" ok regen and then "blast blast blast" again. made me feel like a real BLM. but damn the F4 graphics are awesome

    I think the best thing to do is to remove the Enochian gate to cast Fire and Bliz IV but keep the ability and mechanics to maintain a damage boost.

    In other words, you can cast Fire and Blizzard IV any time but need to follow the Enochian rotation to keep your 5% magic damage up, maybe even increase it to 10%. This way you always have your full arsenal but rewarded with a buff for skillful play.

    This guy has it exactly right! This would make the rotation less punishing while still retaining its complexity.
    For the love of God, please please don't throw us back to brainless 2.x Fire spamming!

    That sounds like a pretty elegant solution.
    IMHO they introduced Enochian to make BLM more "challenging", but for people with a ping higher than 200ms it's basically a death sentence.
    I was fine at lvl 50 and the class felt powerful. F3 procs really made an impact and I found the phase management (UI/AF) to be enough to handle.

    just like kazeandi said, playing with this "buff" system for people with 200 ping++ like me is nightmare, not just you can easily miss a rotation, you are pretty much will never reach the "perfect" rotation from those analytic DPS thread thanks to your ping

    i was thinking to just combine enochian and ley lines into 1 skill and call it "enochian lines" or something lol, when you cast it you can use fire and blizz 4 but the moment you step out the magic circle you lost the reduce cast time and the 5% bonus

    personally, I like the ley lines mechanics. It's one of the added decisions of positioning and when to pop it that is perfect for the glass cannon/ turret gameplay that BLM provides. I like the idea of it being really...'mage like'
