    Tanking with controller

I am planning to switch to a controller (playing in PC). I am having a hard time targeting the units that lost aggro. can you give some scenarios and what button combinations you did? I have been planning to revamp my controller configurations but some of the settings are quite difficult to understand without some help texts

you can rotate between enemys with L2+R1 (or with R2+L1 if you want to rotate in the other direction through the enemys). you also can hold L1 and then use up and down to select your target in the enemy list.

Aiming/swinging the camera/character so that the first 'TAB' selected target is 'aimed' at the one you want to target will help a lot ('A' on XBOX controller, 'X' on PSX); you'll want to focus on getting that down to the point where you can predict exactly which target that button will target first.

Cycling through enemies - want to try to avoid - since it takes longer, but when it's necessary it's very necessary (like when against large groups, or mid pull when enemies are chasing behind you and you don't want to turn to face).

Shoulder button tabbing is best once fighting because AAs will shift to each enemy tabbed through without disrupting AA sequence. That's a good thing if you're tabbing through enemies you're fighting, but you could aggro something or wake a slept enemy accidently also (more a problem for BRD/MCH) but at least be aware.

This is what I do. Also use target filters.
Have mines set so l1+X is enemies only. Some times males it easier to cycle them.

Filters plus camera works well. If you can get the mob you want mid screen and using the right target filter. All you need to do is tap X or the dead once and you've selected it.

I've got r3 set to execute macro 99 which is just /target <f>. Quite useful in fights where bosses continuously jump and reset your targets.

Default Controller scheme has push-down on Right Stick as a toggle for 1st Person View, I change that to face target. System Config > Gamepad Settings > Button Configuration

Make sure that when your weapon is drawn that you only target enemies, use L1 + up and down on the D-Pad to cycle through enemies in your enemy list, this is easiest especially in a group of enemies and you trying to target one specific on. Also take your time to practice on the controller since some people say the targeting is difficult, but it really isn't just takes a bit of time to get used to it. I use a control to tank and never had a problem in groups before.
