I have noticed this but didn't start happening until after SB released so I thought it was something glitched in the expansion but looks like it been going on longer for other people.
Hi I have had this same issue for the last few days and I found a way to fix it. The vertical axis sensor was malfunctioning on my left analog stick causing forward ghosting with the L2 button and interrupting all of my casts. I replaced it with a sensor from an old xbox 360 controller and it works fine again. It can be a process if you're not used to repairing your own controllers.

and this guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Disasse...Assembly/22679
helped me get through the repair in less than an hour. Good luck to anyone else experiencing this.
Oh man the fix is actually fixing the controller lol Oh man. I do not feel comfortable doing that. I'm experiencing this and I bought a new controller and it seems to have stopped still testing it out for the rest of the week but that seems to be it. Odd that the only game that really experiences this is just ffxiv *shrug*

It used to happen to me as well and since i main caster.. damn was a pita
I turned off autorun and other stuff and seems better now
As for the controllers, my first PS4 the touchpad itself was wonky and i guess the controller itself was faulty?. Thankfully with my Pro the controller has been fine so far.
