It's supposed to be used as a tool to make old content relevant again to help new players and queue times. When I can 3 man all the level 50 trials and solo leveling and 50 dungeons this defeats that purpose.

Thanks; but no, thanks. Let me tell you what else "defeats the purpose".
1) Me making a PF with "no bonus" as a stipulation.
2) Me bringing my homies and foregoing all the random nobodies.
Those two there also do nothing to "help new players" or "help" the "queue times", but what would you have SE do about that? I'll bet, nothing. Then don't worry about the ability to do them unsynced.
No, I enjoy doing the trails with just a few friends - and I wouldnt do stuff like Ramuh syched again
Edit: Even if we couldnt do it unsyched anymore, at lest I wouldnt help new people with it - but just do it with my static/friends. And I think thats how the most of us would end up doing it; it wont help, it will only make it more of an inconvenience for everyone.

Yes, I enjoy doing tails the way me and my friends are doing it atm - believe it or not, I enjoy playing the game and having a motivation to do the old stuff again is nice. There is no need to word this as if I'm being a pervert looking at a Miqo-kid, honey.
You can queue up for it synced while the rest of us do it the easier way. Don't ruin it for us, thanks.
I would've preferred WT to have different objectives...like in dungeon quests? Find so and so item and defeat the boss within a time limit. This obviously won't work because dungeons are basically hallways now, but it was an example. 2.0 content is already overly relevant to the point some people are running that more than 3.0(I'm looking at you, anima). Mount farms and such were still surprisingly popular before WT showed up after all.
I don't think SE cares about making people do old content the "proper" way. Unsync clears count for quest completion as well.
WT makes it easier for new players to get clears on old content since older players are willing to go with them for Second Chance bonuses and know they'll be able to get it done in a few minutes instead of hours of wiping trying to teach mechanics.
There's still the option of DF or looking for like minded individuals for those determined to run synced.
I myself got a Black Mage alt through all the ARR Ex Primals + Ultima HM and Odin in DF last week out of boredom. Even Mog Ex which I didn't expect to pop since most people seem to avoid that one even with unsync. >.>
WT unsynced is the only reason I've cleared some of the ARR EX Primals, because the people in DF are too bad to beat it. I spent months trying to beat Ramuh EX synced, even called in some FC members for help.THERE IS NO HELPING THESE PEOPLE! The people in DF for these have no business doing content harder than Sastasha. I finally got the clear once I hit 60 by putting up a PF and advertising bonus. Without the WT incentive, I still wouldn't have the clear.
And it negatively affects YOU that say, I, do something unsynched .. how, exactly?
