    PS4 Fail update**Please Help**

    I bought my friend a ps4 with FFXIV for an early Christmas present. Every time we get it loaded into the sign in screen, and start updating, we get codes [20512][25008][20495] and says can't update the files. I know it isn't my internet connection because I run it on my ps4 which did update just fine. I have uninstalled multiple times, failed. I have went into safe mode, failed. I have completely wiped the ps4 to factory settings, failed. I do not know what to do now. I have been fighting with this for the last 3 days. Please help.

    I've done that. Un-installed, and re-installed multiple times. Used safe mode, and wiped the hard drive and re-installed. Nothing has worked. I'm gonna take to a friends house and see if that will work.

    Sounds like you may need to use a VPN. I had this issue for over a month on my PS4 after a game patch came along and had to re-install. And... once i got PS4 Pro same issue.
    A VPN finally got it to work after much frustration of trying to find solutions (google dns, port forwarding, etc..)
    SE are aware of this issue as it's an old one, and they seem to move threads like these to resolved sections without real solutions.
    I largely believe part of the issue is the launcher they are using, anyhow

    This has been an issue for months with no official solution or even acknowledgment on Square Enix's side. Square Enix apparently just does not care about its NA users.

    I have a fix for this that has been tested on PS4 and PC. Set your MTU to 1360. You will download all of your patches with no problem. Afterwards, just change back to your normal MTU of 1500.
