Do you even need to play a video game? The answer is no. So why are you here? For the lulz, right? Same reason people would like to be able to move while attacking.

Is it really so hard to comprehend for people?

Then turn WM off and you have your lulz back and your party has lulz too after they kicked you because you didn't do dmg. But at least you jumped around like a flee.

I find it odd how the argument is so "night and day." I don't main a BRD but I did prefer its instant cast/maneuverability since you cold rely on it to maintain your DPS while getting out of an AoE. Another example is to maintain range for your buffs/debuff. Its not a matter of 'igottaruneverysecondomgcantstop', its the option of reaction based movement with no loss to your gameplay.

Thus providing a very convincing reason why there should be a physical DPS without cast bars.

I would argue further, but you're not worth the letters. Have fun!

I wonder if people complaining about a lack of mobility have ever cast a flare in their entire lives.

With stutter stepping being so easy to do, the actual amount of time you have to stand still per skill is more like 1 second.

At this point in time, I'm already used to WM. But wouldn't mind getting rid of it's cast time :3

We just love hyperbole. Non-WM bards do not necessarily want to "jump around like flees". Outside of savage content, Non-WM bards do not typically get kicked from parties, and even when they do, it is not for lack of damage from not using WM. It is either because they do poor damage regardless (found with players of any job), or because somebody erroneously thinks that non-WM means "no damage" and kicks on ill-informed principle. You have just as much reason to kick players for not using food or pots in non-savage content.

You may be curious to find that your bursty Emp Arrow numbers over a dungeon run will be replaced by similar numbers from sustained autoattack if you try with and without WM.

I'm pretty used to WM at this point so it doesn't bother me and frankly I fend it makes my attacks feel more impactful. Still removing it would be fine for me except I would be concerned at the price such a change would come at. While in high mobility fights BRD would shine, in fights where a group is more static BRD dps would end up rubbish since it would be balanced around being able to sustain continual dps while moving. That would make the class a little too niche for my liking.

Making WM a MP consuming ability would be bad too. People might not like to admit it but BRD is a support class. If your burning up all your MP on dps then your ability to provide support tanks. You just become a second rate dps.

They should, though. What's next, are you going to try and justify playing DRK with Darkside turned off?

Wanderer's Minuet is a lot more fun than Bard was prior, it doesn't need to go anywhere.

What I find funny is in 2.x, all the good BRD stood still and rarely moved because moving around lost autos, and that was a good chunk of DPS (especially under Barrage. Oh, boy, I do remember BRD who ran around after using that and ugh...so bad).

Only time I remember my static's BRD moving around a lot was when he had to do movement-intensive mechanics (like Renauld duty or that tether in T8); any other time he basically was another caster.
