Ive said this the whole thread, haha goes in one ear an out the other from the people who have been commenting. I can get their stance, but with current glamour settings they have no argument really."Unique Identity" isn't a good argument for keeping this barrier, either. Aside from iconic Artifact gear (which I think everyone can reasonably agree should be exempt from this request), nothing in this game identifies a job. I made a thread like this a couple years ago proving and outlining the complete contractions and g.
If there is anything that has held its integrity and unique identifier in this game it is Weapons and Artifact Armor as both are tied to lore. The rest is not.
Many players in this thread requesting Glamour Restriction removal, to include Artifact Armor. Have not even taken Yoshida's original advice. Requesting a specific Armor Style for "insert" job(s).
Example:
A Divine Breastplate set for Mages, with visual references have been posted in the Request Thread for months, yet it needs more support from the playerbase.
Whats that link? Cause Id support that one.If there is anything that has held its integrity and unique identifier in this game it is Weapons and Artifact Armor as both are tied to lore. The rest is not.

Never gonna happen, they already said it's not possible because of the way it's designed and PvP iirc (which is a stupid excuse cause you can pvp in bikini....)
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
Why should jobs have unique glamours? Can you answer that question without effectively just saying "because they should", in a way that isn't contradicted by gear already present in the game?
I mean, my character in the main story has been referred to as both Azure Dragoon, a capable white mage, recognized as knowledgeable in black magic, and more. Why would she suddenly forget how to wear an article of clothing because she picked up one weapon or another?
And that's beside the fact that I think glamour (as in all character customization) needs to step away from restricting players and just let folk do what they want. It's no fun only being able to make an outfit out of the same highly limited set of items as every other Scholar or whatever.

Well, in that case, I should be able to equip any weapon as any job!! And use all of my job's abilities at once!! Why should I suddenly forget how to cast White Magic just because I picked up a Greatsword????? Well why can't I have Garuda-Egi out as a Black Mage, huh!? Why is my level lower when I equip a job that's lower than my main? Shouldn't they all be level 60, since I've already gotten to level 60 before? Gee Square Enix, talk about a bad game design!!
Hyperbole doesn't win arguments and makes your argument look silly >w>

Take a chill pill, brah, it's glamour. B-D
The moment the "why can't my character equip this other job's item? it's just a shirt after all!!" argument came out we had already passed the point of no return. The moment someone starts pushing that silliness the discussion is basically over, because it becomes a discussion about "why should RPG mechanics exist? that's not realistic!!"
Says who? You? I'm sorry, didn't know you were a moderator or some grandmaster who decides where the point of no return is. In my opinion, the point has some validity, the jobs do lose some of their exclusivity and uniqueness when you can just have ALL of them on a single character. Now there are parts of the argument I disagree with but that's a whole different thing. But this comes back to the whole "contribute to the conversation." thing. You seem to be trying to end the conversation rather then contribute to it or have a discussion (That thing these forums are for.).
I agree. I was actually looking forward to getting the Woad set for my WAR. It seemed like the perfect set for it but then I noticed the tank set has this stupid shoulder pad thing that obstructs the tattoo all the other Woad sets get. Which is odd since Broken Mountain (The HW mentor for WAR.) is wearing the Woad set without the shoulder pad. So it's a little weird...That's how I also partially agree with the glamour reestrictions removal. Keeping them to these sets (tomestones, raids, AF) that give the job their identity is one thing, but dungeons drops look kinda generic and should be available for all jobs. They are also nice looking pieces.

Except no one here has said anything about any of that...The moment the "why can't my character equip this other job's item? it's just a shirt after all!!" argument came out we had already passed the point of no return. They only said they would like to wear a pair of boots and a jacket using a system that already lets you make armor look like a bikini.
There may be a few people who can snowball and ask for such things but they are few and will usually fade away if you just ignore them. :-B
