But games X Y and Z could do it, so this game should be able to as well! It's gonna be 2017!But take a second to realize how much of a monumental task that would be. I work in software QA and I can tell you, a rework of that size will wreak HAVOC on Everything. Contrary to popular belief, bugs are not simple and they are created by stupid things and they are rarely connected to what they are effecting. So a change to the glamour and armoury system, could create a huge bug in the currency system, or the duty finder. You can't just gut a system, perform a massive overhaul and reinsert said system and expect things to go smoothly. A rework of that size would require months of QA on top of the months of programming and editing, and even then, they wouldn't pick up everything. So possible game breaker bugs could sneak in. Again, it is not that simple to just rework the system.

I get the sarcasm and joke, but even then...as a member of the group that ensures X, Y and Z had that happen. I SLAP YOU SIR (or madam.)! XD
/s
But again, that would take months of work and even further months of QA to ensure the product doesn't suffer from the rework. Those pumpkins and christmas trees are made up a month or two in advance or they are often just a reused thing from last year. That's easy, reworking the system, even to a limited degree as you example, would take a considerable amount of time and manpower. Which the XIV team doesn't have. They gotta work on the patches, creating content for those patches (Raids, dungeons and primals.) all while also working on this system rework, it would be hell for them. Yoshi-P even explained, the reason the Inventory expansion has taken so long, is because it would effect the servers and network systems due to how the game is put together. So they would need to improve that before anything could be done to the inventory system. Hence why they are rolling it out in two parts.

Well if it was an issue witch I really dono how big of an issue it would be, but then again I dont know but I see how they just throw random stuff in the game like pumpkins, and Christmas trees on a whim whenever they want but thats something totally different. If this would cause a problem then the least they could do is make things fair like I said and Im pretty much a tank main, but tanks get to many perks in the game.
What I'm sayin is tanks can wear tank gear, they can wear discipline of war gear, and they can wear pretty much anything a healer can wear but the exclusive class only gear. Discipline of war can wear their gear, and pretty much anything that a healer or caster can wear that's not exclusive. But casters pretty much can only wear caster gear or clothe gear that's not balanced and its not right. If just changing everything would cause an issue at least let everyone wear tank gear, disciple of war gear, and caster gear from top to bottom and not just allow tanks to wear all three glamour wise Im not referring to stats If they can do it for tanks then they can do it for all the other classes to

Even if they decided to take on such a huge time and resource extensive task to rebuilt the armory and glamour systems. I still see them preserving Artifact Armors for creative, historical, and iconic reasons. Especially when it is regarding a 30 year old flagship franchise. Why should all your healers and tanks look exactly alike, its stupid buy into your all on one build the game has made, stop separating things, you are still one character the only thing that should be different is job quest, main weapon , abilities and exclusive mounts everything else like gear should be a free for all.
You are making grand delusions here. I would like to see your stats for that first line because i doubt glamour is nearly as important as you make it out to be.But they should tho , everyone doesnt raid, everyone doesnt craft or gather, but I'm pretty sure almost at least 75 percent of the players in the game use glamour. Glamour is one of the most important things in a game, and with this games unique system they should open the gates to more fun with the system.
Remove job restrictive gear, remove the level 50 quest to even do glam, make prisms even more simple than they are now, and also enough with the shared gear. Why should all your healers and tanks look exactly alike, its stupid buy into your all on one build the game has made, stop separating things, you are still one character the only thing that should be different is job quest, main weapon , abilities and exclusive mounts everything else like gear should be a free for all.
No developer would want to even consider remaking the whole armor system (which effects a lot more then glamours) if that is what it takes to get your freedom.
What x y and z games actually?
As far as i know all games actually have this restriction, the only which i am not sure about is GW2.

I will state again what other game lets you play 13 different classes on one character I'm willing to bet that its very few. That being said what does this game do to even try to explain that you an adventurer can go to all these guilds and have the skill and no how to do all of these jobs, they dont at all. You don't even have a true identity unless you make one for yourself, what Im saying is you are going to let us play every job on one character then essentially we are all those jobs, we arent just a warrior, blm, or scholar we are all of them. You are making grand delusions here. So why does it make sense to only be able to wear heavy Armour when your a tank, because you are a tank still even if you are a healer, the only thing that matters is the weapon that you have in the main hand slot. The op is referring to a glamour system he or she isnt asking for healers to be able to wear tank gear, or summoner gear and get their stats they are asking to be able to paste over their gear with the glamour system which should have zero restrictions if you are in fact all of the jobs. And I dont know what sever you are on but every-time I look at a character that's above level 50 they are wearing some type of glamour , if glamour wasnt 75 percent of the game then I dont think the phrase glamour is endgame would exist.
This isnt just any game because every game doesnt let you run every class they have to offer on one character so why not embrace that instead of tryin to have lock outs like you are playing a game that you can only wear certain gear on certain jobs.

I am not talking about a gameplay standpoint, or anything like that.
I am talking about a pure technical mess it would be to create what you want. The glamour system is already tacked on as it is.
Once again, the whole system is based around you showing gear you can wear because somewhere the game actually thinks you are wearing said gear.
Now let's say we simply remove the job restrictions on any peace of gear. You just turned the loot argument into full on wars because it would mean that everyone can need on any piece of gear.
It is simply not just an easy switch and changing this would most likely revamping the entire armory system and everything around out it adjusted. We are talking about a gigantic update, all for this silly glamour.

if we are gonna allow healers to have heavy armor, then i want the HP and defense that heavy armor gives rather than pretending we are wearing it. because video games.
Its called glamour a paste over thats like sayin you want the level one stats that go with a level one shirt that you glam over, thats really not even an argument at all. And you can think of it as if you are a tank your healer just releases their hp to help others to go into its healer form, because the in this game you have the option to be a tank and a healer on one character.
