(Suggestion?) Could the zone maps be recycled for alternate-dimension/shard content?

Some of the most well-received fun content in the game, to wit, the Aquapolis and the Palace of the Dead, has used the power of randomness and recycled content for what appears to be exciting and well-considered gameplay.

There's another massive asset sitting around: Eorzea itself. Hunts are spent and FATEs don't pull the attention they once might have.

Have there been alternate dimensions on existing land implemented in other MMOs (idk, ffxiv is my first)? I'm quite pleased with the prevailing formula, but if the devs think there's some staleness afoot, perhaps the lore justification could be that the frontier-level Warrior of Light can use the echo to detect and fight beasts seeping through from the other shards of the crystal, whether or not they are also able to interact with players not engaged in said alternate world.

You want the normal world itself to be randomly generated and change all the time? Or am I getting you wrong?

In case thats what you meant though: No, please no. I'd like to find stuff by having it in the same place I left it. It will also influence how good the world looks - look at potd and aqua, both are generic because of the random generation, I prefer my world to be handbuild and special.

Dynamis/Abyssea/Escha from XI are pretty much alternate dimensions. Some new areas thrown in sometimes but basically recycled maps.

The WOTG expansion from XI is basically a remade original areas world map with some differences. Same with Draenor (WoD) from WoW. Not completely the same land mass but quite a few similarities.

Hard mode dungeons in XIV are pretty much recycled, you just go a different route or it is aesthetically changed to reflect passage of time.

From a lore perspective the mirror worlds that still survive probably look quite different to the Hydaelyn of today. They would have been copies when it first happened but since that point each world has had its own history to shape it. For example, on any world where the 3rd Calamity didn't happen, the lands of Thanalan would be grasslands, not deserts. Civilisations have also done their part to shape the landscape. At this point the other worlds would hold similarities but be vastly different.

As for creatures from the other shards spawning, that doesn't sound that much different to hunts by another name. I am not really sure what the point would be.
