new Race?

Why everyone wanna play kids, I know there's a cast of kids characters (Rydia, Palom, Porom, Ceodore, Krile, Eiko, etc) but guys, we're talking about FFXIV where people practice erp and spam weird things in public. Men here create woman char to make them naked, now take this but with childs.
I would be for, if the entire community was mature. And having Lalafells is already the contrary of that

I concur that we shouldn't have child characters in the game; however, I would like to point out that we Lalafell are perfectly normal in our stature. It's the rest of you who are giants with slow growing children! (Don't eat me!)

Not that I support adding child characters to the game but you could easily get away with it in the same way that Lalafell gets away with it - make it look like a child but call it an adult. Wouldn't work for mini versions of currently existing races, but would work for an entirely new race. Personally I chose Lalafell because I wanted to play as a smaller version of myself and I think the intent of most people playing child-like characters might not be so innocent, but if Lala can exist and not get any backlash (outside of the potato jokes) then honestly it's probably possible.

Aside from the obvious issue of perverts, another good reason not to add children to the game as a playable character, is that violence against children is considered extreme in quite a number of countries. I'm not sure, but I imagine China, for example, would forbid it.

I find it odd that your first opinion of Chloe is that she is some weird lala'qote hybrid and not a plain old child. (She is a child by the way, an able adult wouldn't be sending you out to write her stories and giving you colorful stickers)

This reminds me of the live letter Q&A where someone asked if Alphinaud was a lalafell/elezen mix and Yoshi was taken aback by how obvious it should be he was just a young elezen.

It's like Lalafell players can't understand the existence of children since their children grow up to adult size so quickly lol

Yeah but if you compare Alphinaud to grown elezen ingame you can easily see why people would wonder.
Current adult elezen just look weird.

Every interaction with her, depicts the character as a child, even the short cut scene.

Even with this Lala are still childlike to me and that's why I (and lots of players too) don't like them, with the fact that they're noisy little pests.

It is the reason though and they're quite aware of that problem - I remember several comments in one of the artbooks being basically like "We tried really hard to not give lalafells any sexy clothes because thats inappropriate".
There are lots of weirdos out there (I'm female but played a male character for over two years to have my peace) and it would also limit their options about story telling - think about Haurchfaunt and Aymeric! By now Haurchfaunt is a bit of a weirdo - think about those scenes with him and the person hes talking to being 10 years old... think about Aymeric inviting a 10 year old girl for dinner in his private quarters...!

Children really shouldnt be an option in this game.

Also: Games with young, child-like hereos are almost always for a younger audience that you'll find here. Even if I'm still enjoying pokemon in my mid-twenties, this game is more made for kids (and they need a hero they can identify with). This totally isnt the case with FFXIV.

(and yes, some countries are having problem with violence against kids - I remember that they removed the children in one of the early fallout games for the german version. And there is also a reason that you normally dont have kids in Skyrim)
