request: loot timer in 24 man raid

Please make it so that loot timer in 24 man raid run only when someone greeded/needed on the item. That way people have the choice to save the item till the end of the raid. And if the person who rolled on the item got disconnected, the timer should pause (unless someone else rolled on the same item). And resumes once the said person gets back online. But if the person who rolled on the item left the raid, the timer should reset and stop. Im prolly not the only one reaching the end of the raid only to regret not getting the item that nobody wanted.

I don't understand what you mean by running the timer when someone already rolled on the item, but I don't agree with pausing the timer if someone disconnects because people are going to be stuck waiting for someone to return and you can't vote someone out while the item is being lotted. And why does the timer need to pause if someone leaves the party willingly?

What i wanted is to remove the loot timer until someone needs/greeds on the item. So if you want the item, lot on it. Otherwise just ignore it or hit pass. So if all the party members ignores the item, they can save till the end of the raid and choose which item to lot on to.

But what if someone decided to troll the group and lot on it just to start the timer? Then disconnects so that guy wont get the item but the other party members have to pass/lot on it. Thats why i want the timer to pause until the dc'd guy returns. Same for lotting to start the timer then leaving.

What if someone decides to not roll and just go AFK at the end of the raid in the hope that he can wait out everyone else until they leave and be guaranteed the piece he wants?

Pausing a loot roll timer because someone disconnects, or resetting a loot roll because someone leaves or gets kicked, is the worst possible way to handle that situation. Sometimes things happen. One person losing an item drop due to any number of reasons is infinitely better than other people being held hostage because that guy's power could potentially be out for the next few hours.

You dont really think this is gonna happen? The point here is to take the risk/make the choice if you want to take XY now or wait for something better to drop - it would be actually easier to just put everything into the last chest and then cherrypick what you want.
But first: they want you to run this content multiple times to generate playtime (and thats easier when you can miss out on good items)
and second... and you can burn me for this, but: its choices that make a game interesting. Do I take this now? Should I wait? Its always something we're discussing among friends and somehow part of the fun and experience. Making choices easier or eleminating them even is going to make the game boring. And yes, this might not be the best and most important choice, but it is one and it should stay.

No it is fine the way it. You have to decide do you want the item now or pass and try for something better later. Do not hold the raid hostage, what if someone can use the drop as a upgrade for the rest of the raid but because of you they have to wait to the end to get it? No thanks.

People will wait out the timer hoping it frustrates the other players enough they'll leave. I've had it happen a few times. Your scenario would allow them to take it one step further and purposely discount just to pause the timer. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people shitty enough to do just that.
