    Favorite type of mechanics, for trails and raids what do you wana see in Stormblood?

    Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and enjoyed the news of red mage for the next expansion. So I just wanted peoples opinions on what they like and dislike about some of the mechanics in the game when it comes to trails and I guess you could say raids or dungeons as well.

    So me personally I enjoy dodging , some debuffs depending on , I can even take a few one shot kills. Ha what I loathe tho are platforms, I hate mechanics that involve if you fall off of this platform game over, I know many will disagree but to me whether or not you can stay on a platform has nothing to do with skill but that's just my opinion. So I hate stuff like titan extreme , prob want do shopia I just know that its not my area of being good. But if you give me something I can do on the ground I'm good to go I will do it until I get it right, falling off just discourages me personally ha ,but that's me ha I wana know everyone else's opinion. What type of mechanics are your favorite , and what do you want to see more of in the future?

    Do you think staying on a platform is putting your skills to the test or do you like debuffs, are lots of aoe mechanics dodging, or one shot kills. What is it that challenges you the most I know many people don't think a lot of the game is challenging, but I'm sure you could think of something. Just wanted to make a thread about this to see what kinda mechanics people want, that can test them and put their skills to use.

    I love dodging things, actually my favorite boss of the game is Taulurd from Dzemael, especially as a melee DPS ! (I know i'm a weird person ^^")
    I hope we'll see more AoE patterns, Wildstar did a great job with that and it was fun

    Honestly I never cared for the mechanics of the fight especially fights like titan and sophia...I rather go into a fight knowing that the boss has a certain number of skills he will use, my job's skills and abilities and gear should be all I need to deal with whatever he throws at me. I hate having to memorize positions to stand in and when to run...theres enough chaos on the screen for me to be running around either healing or supporting or doing damage in some way. All my opinion of course, other people will probably disagree.

    Also I did enjoy the first part of Crystal Tower... Hoping to see more of that in the future.

    There's nothing wrong with this opinion, but yeah >___<, these are my favorite moments! When everyone has a specific place to be and has to get there at the right time--I love the "teamwork" feel to that, as everyone has to be on their game together and a few good people can't just steam roll it/carry. Yeah, it's super annoying to wipe because one or two people don't know where to go or don't pay attention... but when everyone gets it down, those type of fights look almost like a dance or a perfectly timed maneuver as everyone moves to their exact places at just the right moment! I feel like there's a bigger feeling of accomplishment when you see your entire party do the mechanic exactly as intended compared to just wailing away on the boss. Like, Thordan definitely feels more rewarding to me than say... Bismarck. XD

    As for what I'd actually like to see... More fights that take advantage of other actions the game as built in, like maybe a fight where we have to use {transport} to get an object to set locations or fights that take advantage of the flying mechanic. Maybe just less typical square/circle arenas? A fight where we have to move around across a larger map while battling sounds like it would be fun to me.

    Going to put this in spoiler tags as there is some gameplay spoilers in this post.

    In Alexander 11 there's a mechanic in there in which you have to jump on top of the plane, and then dismount before he blows you up. I want to see more of this QTE type gameplay added, and maybe instead of pushing any button, you say have to push the move forward key, etc, possibly chained into a sequence, or else you wipe the group). I feel this was a nice little change of pace and something I'd like to see utilised more

    As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

    This is not going to be specific to dungeons or raids but, I'm kind of tired of when you pull a mob (say like In a fate or something) the first thing the mob wants to do is some sort of casted frontal cone thing. This sucks when you're trying to gather things and aoe them down. Dragons in particular do this. I would just like some variety. Now those bipedal dragons of whose name I can't remember where you don't see the ground positional and you have to watch their movements to see what they're going to do....that I like.

    People say shes easy but I like her fight Shiva extreme , how she has attacks kinda coming from all directions , she has stuff falling from the sky you have to worry about, stuff on the ground if you mess up you have to worry about, she has one shot kill abilities. And of course shes on the ground which I like , but fights like her with a good mix of mechanics coming from all directions is nice. A mix of air born attacks ground attacks , one shot kills if party isnt payin attention. To me thats more fun than well you didnt stand in the right spot so off the cliff you go have fun viewing from the bottom haha.

    They could take stuff like this and ramp it up more maybe with swimming coming something like a platform on water and you have to swim to get to the boss,and if you stay in to long instant kill are fighting adds under water solo in a certain amount of time to get back to your party it would be nice to add something with water as oppose to your standard platform in the air fall to your death ha.

    I want more creative uses of terrain. Have the ground change, perhaps randomly during the fight, or in response to some player reaction to a mechanic, or have certain parts have different effects on players...

    ... honestly, if they just looked at the creative boss mechanics in WildStar and drew inspiration from there, they couldn't go wrong. xD

    Wildstar might have failed as a mmorpg, but it did one thing right and that was raid boss encounters.

    And Redmoon Terror, its most recent raid, really stepped it up a notch in terms of really creative boss encounters (as if that were possible... apparently it is!). The Navigation Core is friggin' awesome both in pure concept and in the execution of mechanics.
