Ninja: the best minion farmers (so long as it's a black mage bunny on your head minion your after)
We've all seen this...
... and I easily fall under it. The top is how I go into every group, and the bottom is how I come out from quite a few of them, hand on forehead murmuring, "Why? WHY must you stand in the fire!" I think I secretly love it though because I also fall under these healer stereotypes:
- Introverted
- Masochist
- Low self esteem
- Difficulty handling criticism, but quick to point finger at self (see above).
- A little cray-cray (unfathomable rage hidden underneath cuteness)![]()
Each BLM has two basic phases to be confused: the phase when they don't know the skill rotation (once when I was an "ice mage", I killed a wild mob with more than ten times blizzard 1); and the phase they usually face with a dilemma whether to finish a casting in front of AOE.
That phase 1 was pretty short to me. Even though FFXIV was the first real MMO I invest my time in, I just needed to read the fire I, ice I and transposition effect to understand the basis of the black mage. Which would actually mmake the game more great if more people could just do that instead of blind leveling then discovering all the skills at the end instead of bit per bit. Each BLM has two basic phases to be confused: the phase when they don't know the skill rotation (once when I was an "ice mage", I killed a wild mob with more than ten times blizzard 1); and the phase they usually face with a dilemma whether to finish a casting in front of AOE.
The phase 2... yeah, got stuck a long time in it. Then I learned to play BLM spell speed and I don't have this problem anymore, especially when you played BLM for months, the cooldown of all your spell is wrote in your skin.
As a Midlander Hyur (Female) Astrologian, I can't say I really know how I'm stereotyped lol. Enlighten me?
I know I do get a bit miffed when the Tank wants to grab 2 rooms worth of enemies. Really?
I'm a charitable healer, because I know some that will ONLY focus on the Tank. I actually try to take care of DPS as well. I also try to DPS when I can. Not REALLY my job to do it, but I most certainly will once the healing is taken care of. Oh, and PLEASE do not get hateful because I turn Cleric Stance on. I assure you that it's going off relatively quickly. Do you want some decent DPS damage or not?
I'm nice with my Balance (I'll alternate between DPS--BRD included :P). Arrow though, I ALWAYS give to BLM if in my party. Ewer depends--I will scout my DRK mana pool, WHM mana pool, and my own. Typically I use it on myself unless I have one of those 2 in the party and they are in need. I'll usually RR it to get an AoE on my next good draw. >_>
Just like my fellow BLMs here, I'm also stereotyped to NEVER move out of AoEs, not when I'm mid-cast and even less if the AoE drops on my Ley Lines, in which I am firmly rooted no matter how many permanent fire and ice and green goo circles lay on top of it
I am also supposed to terrorize every BRD about singing for me and terrorize the tanks by bursting away right from the start.
Alternatively, I like RP and refuse to use firespells
I will admit that I have stayed in non-lethal AoEs to keep Enochian xD Really rarely though, and I hate it when I see other BLMs standing in absolutely everything that will not immidiately kill them. It's just rude to the healers, idk..
Also, whenever something bad drops on my Ley Lines, a little part of me dies when I have to leave them ;-;
I have more than once been guilty of the uninhibited aggro-stealing burst, but I never went through an icemage/bad rotation phase
Not my main, but what I'm leveling lately: MNK.
My experience so far with it: "My stacks..!!"

As a SCH I let tanks die for DPS.
I've done that... once... or twice...
