Topsoil drop rates

Dirt is insanely difficult to acquire. Yes, you read that correctly.

The grade 3 topsoils are one, once per hour.
I just finished 30 minutes of gathering seeds - 43, plus about 440 shards. Not bad.
In the same amount of time, I managed just 5 grade 2 topsoils.

Give us other ways of getting topsoil for our gardens, or increase the gathering frequency.

Mining retainers can give you ten grade 1, three grade 2, or one grade 1 topsoil every hour.

If you're not going for crossing or need a bigger harvest then you could just buy the potting soil for 150 gil from a vendor. It'd be nice if they bumped up the Grade 3 harvest amount/retainer return though. The only time I ever use the G1 or G2 soils is when I'm starting a fresh cross and that's only because I snagged them before potting soil was introduced. Once I'm out of'em it's strictly potting soil and G3 soil.

I honestly dont think it's that bad. Most crops take a few days to grow so it's nothing to just nip out and grab one between queues if the time of day is right. Even if you grab 1 or 2 a day you'll have enough by time most crops grow to plant the next lot

They have already been buffed via ventures. I really can't see them going further than that.

Considering you need a max of 8 every 4 days, I think the gathering rate is just fine. If you want more than that to sell, then you'll have to put in a little more effort to get those.

I don't know about buffed, but they were added. 1 an hour. An increase to the amount they can bring back would be a welcomed change, even if just 3.

A max of 8 per garden patch. I'm currently caring for 5 patches - that's at least 40 soils needed a week, more, actually, since 2 patches don't take 6-7 days to harvest.

They were always available via ventures but only in singles. The buff increased that for Grades 1 & 2. Grade 3 wasn't increased, for some reason, which was unfortunate.

I manage multiple gardens on two servers. I HAVE to buy soil. I couldn't possibly meet my needs with ventures and mining.

G3 Thanlan is 9 - 12K on Sarganatas, 12 - 18K on Jenova. I turn a steady profit.

But there is always karkka roots in potting soil. Low cost, steady income, just not as fun as crossbreeding for seeds.
