Need help deciding my melds

Now I just came back from a long break and I got my ironworks set and I'm looking to meld it. I came up with 2 builds and these are the stats with food included, which one you think will HQ stuff more reliably? I'm looking for a relatively cheap build that can HQ easily without specialist skills/soulstone so I can use it with my non-specialist jobs when/if the specialist requirement gets dropped for the 4 star recipes. I'm gonna be using the 2 rapid synthesis opener so that's why I need the 1030 craftsmanship, but I'm not sure if more CP or more Control is better. The Seafood Stew build is considerably more expensive since I'll have to overmeld all the main/off-hand tools.

tldr; will more CP or more Control be better to HQ 4 star items reliably as a non-specialist

CP is king, I would suggest the first build and for your MH/OH flip the melds so it goes Craft V, CP IV, Craft IV, Craft IV. By having the extra 40 CP that means you have two extra precise touches than the other build giving it a much better rate of HQ. Good luck with your melds!

Yeah I was planning on melding the Competence V's first on the tools, I just was a lil lazy on ariyala. Thanks for the advice, I'll go with the first build then. There goes my gil QQ

Well if you want to save a little Gil depending on Vs cost. Make some carbonweave gear and Sb on things like camphor. I made a macro for quick NQ camphor that I spam. Also if your elemental Vs are really cheap you can mutamix them with some light blue Vs if you want to gamble.
