So, SE, How Do I Report Invisible Bots?

Was in Shroud early this morning (EU) and saw a totally invisible bot harvesting a group of three tree nodes .. the only way I was aware of it was the short 'flash' effect when the harvesting action is successful and the sound effect!

In the past when I've seen 'below the ground' bots I could usually see their nameplate, this time there wasn't even that. The 'flash' was a little way off the ground and it seemed to me that it was possible the entire character was INVISIBLE rather than being below ground!

Tell me SE, how the hell do I report THIS kind of bot? If this were FFXI I could do a /search in the zone and if I wanted to I could likely work out which character it is, as far as I know there's no 'zone search' in FFXIV, so I guess we have to live with them because you don't seem to be able to prevent this.

I used to use the "Player search" in "Social" (you can set conditions up).
You can setup the zone, job, lvl range, and a lot more ... anything needed to find them easily.
This is not a one-click button but not that hard.

You can't search a ZONE you can only search a region, though I guess in this case the 'class' would narrow it down, none of the other criteria are useful for this purpose as far as I can see.

The bots are doing this to spam /say in towns. You look around yet you can't see them. And you can't target them either. SE needs to figure out how they are doing this and patch the exploit. Or is it really super complicated to figure out what hole in the coding is allowing this? I know nothing about coding.

Same with the ones who just appear in front of a questgiver , and 10 jumbled names get the same achievement and all disappear out. There was a group of like 10 doing this yesterday.

It takes too long to report them all, they really need to do this like RMT reporting , these all belong to the same FC , look at the names/classes (and GC rank) Why dont they just ban this whole FC?

Since although it's blatantly obvious to us all it's a bot FC, SE can't say with 100% certainty that it is and thus we have to treat it like they're innocent and just report them in game. Maybe ask how you can report an FC though to the GMs?

I'll be honest with you here, they aren't invisible. They're somewhere they ought not to be. You just can't see them because you're not meant to see them. They have their nefarious ways. I won't elaborate here, but I've seen what they do.

I noted them in the standings a while ago and made a report to the STF via SE's support website so hoping for movement from that front

Oh you mean the exact map. Well tbh I don't remember having issue with the job + lvl range. Since you know the lvl needed for the node and they are probably under lvl 50. (often)
I rarely got more than 20 people in the list.
I don't even bother report them now, after 3 years on this game I have never seen any bots I have personnally report being ban (or maybe after months, idk)
