I am playing something because this game is so bad lol. I wish it wasn't bad because, up until BRD happened archer was a fun class to play. I also like how position matters for some spells.

Although there are some features I do like, there are too many that i don't to keep me interested in the game, the reason I occasionally post here is because if SE really does take peoples posts into account, maybe they will make the game more interesting and I will consider coming back.

As of right now, I won't touch the game once it goes P2P, at least not untill 2.0, and only for one month transaction to check out how it plays and what they have to offer.

You do realize if not for SE fans' sound off this game would be six feet under with no hope for revival. Is it not unreasonable that people want certain aspects of this game to change for everyone to enjoy? Is it reasonably honest to tell someone if they do not a certain part of the system to quit?

And this problem is precisely why I am a stalwart advocate of sandbox MMORPGs.

If you want an example of a true sandbox MMORPG, look no further than Star Wars Galaxies. The entire world is at your command - you have the ability to build entire cities, tailor your own clothes to your tastes, even customize your weapons during the fabrication process, on top of that, there are various features such as the ability to create your own storytelling NPCs (aka, programmable NPCs that you can use to host an event), along with the feature that lets you set up props outside on the planet's surface. So you could have your own personal YT-2400 (not boardable, sadly) parked outside your house in the Tatooine desert.

Edit: Oh, and you could decorate your houses in ANY way you wanted with ANY object in your inventory - clothes, weapons, furniture, quest rewards, etc. - all this complete with X,Y,Z axis movement and rotation commands.

Edit2: You could even program your own pets, such as droids, to do what you wanted them to do. Patrol, be a town crier for your store located outside Mos Eisley Spaceport, or simply do tricks. Same goes for biological pets, too.

THIS is the kind of MMORPG that has been in decline since World of Warcraft came out, and I am sad.

True sandbox MMOs let you have a high degree of command and control over your assets within the game world, and that allows you to truly formulate an identity of your own making within the universe. That was one of the most unique aspects of SWG, and had me playing for more than three years, until the NGE destroyed it.

(SoE also messed up SWG with the NGE, which didn't help the case for those advocating sandbox MMOs)

It also doesn't help that Star Wars Galaxies is being shut down this December, and the Emulator version does not support the current client and doesn't support player-programmable NPCs. Or a majority of the new features that had been added after the NGE, either.

That said, the entire XIV development team really should check out Star Wars Galaxies and explore its myriad features before the shutdown.

that will last all of what? a week before half the server has done it to death lol. then its back to sitting around waiting for the next patch. I don't know how the did it in FFXI, but i never felt like there was nothing to do. maybe because everything took some time or because they never made old content not worth a damn so quickly (of course abysea ruined that)

we get told how stuff will be harder, but people still make it look like a joke in less then a day, then others complain about how they can't do it, so it will get nerfed for the casual people. I do enjoy some of my time in this game, but there is no way in hell i can justify paying for what little is there, or how little can really be done/fixed until 2.0. Still baffles me why people are so for paying 13$+ a month for the game. In 2.0 i can totally get it, but until then i could barely get myself to spend even a fraction of that.

People are so bored they can't get creative... wow.

Gather a few players and play hide and seek (/names off, a piece of paper to hide your mini-map).
Emote wars (don't use a single word, only non-custom emotes, for X minutes. Try to have the most coherent conversation with someone).

    etc. etc. etc.

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

A rebuke to those that are saying gamers can't get creative in XIV:

Even roleplayers are having a hard time being creative here...

Just ask anyone from an RP shell on Besaid.

i find it ironic, a computer/console game is sposed to be something you do to kill boredom. i am no where near done all the stuff so i can't really say "i'm bored." but i do understand why ppl want more endgame content

that being said. i do get the feeling that certain ppl don't even like this game. i feel sorry for any1 that can't find 1 game out of the millions on the market to make them happy. so sorry for any1 that is even considering getting a sub for a game that seems to suck the soul from there very existence, purely becuase the boredom of life is worse than the boredom of Eorzea

of course i could be mis-reading ppls feelings

the new prime fight is harder then the last and it took someone 3+days to win it so i think it would take a few days before someone can win it. In ffxi you play around when? if you say rise of the zilart or cop then there was lot's to do vs ffxiv where noting to really do.

I don't think this game would pick up too they release a new pack with 10+level of something to do. but ya i agree there not really to do and the dungeon/new prime fight would be done within a few days.

also we getting a discount on the price when the game goes p2p so paying let's say half price is pretty good seeing how the game is half made.

ugg, most of us aren't 3years old. these are things my first linkshell did in ffxi, i left them lol. progresion, content, good convo on linkshell while still staying the path of speed and accuracy ...all good. i can't be imaginitive with my mmo's i can do that outside of the electronic world with real people if anything. it's not what i pay for this game is not aol chat. once you run out of stuff to do then ...there is just nothing to do.

i dinged my last 50 yesterday /cheer, pretty much ready to put this game to the side lines and play others till 2.0 ..i'll come back to try the new dungeons and avatar fights but that bout it. not paying se for there mistakes and audacity because they realize people are still willing to pay for develepment. lets pray all the mmo companies don't realize they can get away with this and follow suit. even offline games ..if everyone follows suit with lol bethsda(love there games though) and all there games coming out half broken and buggy, the gaming world will be a sad site. .

tl,dr, i'm pulling for 2.0 but i'm pulling my wallet till then. my train rides don't take me to the neighborhood of make believe no more. least not on my dime and time.

also on paying half price, it's cool if your not planning on paying for the full year or 2years the way they keep delaying patches. a mini expansion in ffxi had more content to do then what we will get per patch every few months and guess what it was only 10bucks.

I have a very simple solution, when new content is release or jobs take your time. Do not level everything then expect to be kept busy inside game. Trust me I've been there.
