Sure, ranking up is fun (except when you only got two fighting class left and dont really feel any need to lvl them) and so is going to teh dungeon and killing ifrit and the ebast camps.

But please, PLEASE! give us something to do!

You don't have to have SE to implement this stuff, get creative and provide some content for yourself! (i know, they need to add more content...and they are with the next patch which should be out in a couple of weeks).

Define a course in a zone for you and your friends to race in. Wager on who can get the last kill on a mob, or on if a lowbie will survive that aggro'd 15 level higher mob that's attacking them

People are so bored they can't get creative... wow.

Gather a few players and play hide and seek (/names off, a piece of paper to hide your mini-map).
Emote wars (don't use a single word, only non-custom emotes, for X minutes. Try to have the most coherent conversation with someone).

etc. etc. etc.

These kind of comments really get on my nevers!
I don't even really have anything to even say except - GO DIE IN A FIRE with your user generated content (lol maybe not die but burn at least!)
If I want to create my own content I go do that somewhere else than in a game...

Luckily, I haven't ran out of content because I am extremely casual player BUT I can see how people would run out of content. My LS has people who have been playing FFXIV full time since the beginning. They have all jobs (even culinarian and fishing) 50 and they really don't have anything to do anymore.
I was actually thinking that once I get my conjurer to 50, I might create another character (just for fun) and play that to 50 on some jobs as well. I know it is a bit of a repeat but I actually like leveling and I like the idea of having two characters to choose from.

The best thing that you'll probably get in the short term is the Achievement system when that gets implemented in 1.20. It'll be the closest thing to a built-in minigame that we have. Of course, the achievements will probably involve killing stuff so... =\

But, who knows! Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.
