In fact there is money to be made from a change of this policy, In fact if they did change there policy on there one time restore and in fact charged a small fee for it. It would bring in more money for SE so this change isnt useless or a waste of money.

Jump potion: automated process, highly in demand because a lot of people who are starting the game want to join friends/the majority in the endgame, process can be guranteed

Restoring character data: Has to be done manually, data has to be stored somewhere, back ups have to be made and saved, process might not be a 100% depending on the latest back up (I've also read several stories about people having issues after they got their characters restored - missing job crystals, items etc.), most people dont delete their character, so there wouldnt be a market for this

No it's not automated yet, As its not in the game for us yet thus still being worked on. and Highly in demand is a lie, So many voiced there opinions over that and didn't want them for fear of it breaking the game. But SE said there coming get over it, There were more against the jump potions then for it. They can easily spend a few Thousand on making a character restore on the mogstation automated, Like there doing with the jump potions.

And how else do you think its going to work if not automated? By simply checking of all the quests that you have to do and raise your character level to 60? Thats nothing they'll do by hand, right? Because it doesnt has to be done by hand since its going to be the same for every single character - restoring a character is a totally different process, its tricky, data can be lost etc.

And as much as I dont like the jump potion: a lot of people are probably stop playing or arent picking up the game because they wont be able to play with their friends for the 2-3 weeks they need to play through the story and reach endgame.
