    WHM new skill ideas!

    As we know White Mage is subdued in the last period but Stormblood is on the horizon with promises of new skills and revisiting not brilliant older skills. Despite this, however, the census is keen to point out that it remains the most popular healer.

    That said what could bring the WHM in vogue again? Or what you have always wanted and are expecting from SB?

    Feel free to get creative and go into detail. This thread is done on purpose

    Instead of having so many MP cost reduction traits, lower the costs across the board to match Astro (aside from Holy, since the cost is justified by the stun) and then replace those traits with interesting stuff.

    Maybe stuff like 5% mitigation on Medica casts, 15% attack speed buffs for 5 seconds after casting Cure III when the trait pops up. I dunno.

    I was thinking about something similar too.. adding some tiny buffs to spells, paying with some RNG, that can give WHM what it misses without stepping over other healers and thought about this:

    Pray, ability:
    Restores all party members HP.
    Random cure potency: 150-500
    Random additional effect: 5% Haste, 5% received damage reduction, 5% damage dealt increase, 5% TP/MP refresh, HoT potency 50
    Duration: 10s
    Recast time: 60s

    Give it a more solemn holy animation and I'm bought

    WHM [borderline broken] wishlist:

    62- Tetragrammaton- Splash heals for 300 potency around the target cure with 700 potency with a Radius of 8 yalms.

    64- Cleric Stance- Upon entering Cleric Stance, "Miraculous Cure" is gained for 20 seconds. The next cure will have no casting time and will cause the "Free Cure" trait to become 100%. Ends upon execution of cure or when the buff times out. (Cure II will cost no mana after casting an instant cast cure upon entering Cleric Stance.)

    66- Asylum- Damage taken while within Asylum will be reduced by 5%, the effects of Weakness are nullified within Asylum. Current effect remains.

    68- Benediction- HP, MP, and TP are restored to Maximum.

    70- Omen of Ole- Absolute waters wash away all sin, dealing 250 potency AOE damage and cleansing all debuffs on surrounding party members. 15 yalms. 60 seconds.

    Odds and Ends-
    Quicker Stoneskin trait changed to "One with Earth" - Casting Stone, Stone II, Stone III or Stoneskin has a 15% chance to reduce the cast time to instant and the MP cost to 0 for the next Stoneskin cast. Duration: 20 Seconds.



    Pretty much the only realistic ones are the Stoneskin trait and asylum trait. Everything else is just wishful thinking. xD posted from another thread for the lulz.

    i would like to see the whm stay the power healer, with no real shields and healing-oriented utility

    like an aoe dispell (really, why got sch it? it's one of the few utilitys wich fit perfectly on the whm playstyle)

    a cd to increase the range and radius of all healing spells

    a revive 2 - revive the person either with full HP and / or without weakness, but can not be used together with swiftcast (so you have to hardcast it all the time), maybe with a long cd too

    what about a split-damage skill? you link yourself with someone together and all damage you or your linked partner recieve will get shared between you and your linked partner. so instead, let's say, the dragoon gets hit for 30k and dies, you both get hit for 15k and survive... but of course this is meant to share tankbusters with your tank >.>

    I'm pulling this from another thread I posted in with some changes. Cooldown's are up to your imagination. As I imagine all of these will not be able to cast again for a while once the buff duration's are off.

    White Magic to Sate your Hunger to press more Keys

    Pray: Stock's a Prayer. Up to 3 Times.

    Prayer: Consumes all Prayer Charges for an effect. 1 Stock: 6% max hp 6% max mp recovery to Self. 2 Stock: 6% max hp and 6% Max mp to party. 3 Stocks: Regenerates 10% hp/mp to party over 5 seconds. [Shares a Cooldown with Pray] [Cannot be affected by prayer until pray is off CD]

    Nul-Spell: Reduces 5% elemental damage taken for a short period of time. [Cannot be used on self] Single target.

    En-Spell: Bestows a random element onto the target's Auto-Attacks. [50 potency] If attack is melee, also dots the target with the aspected element. [130 potency over 20 seconds] If auto attack is ranged, will do a surrounding aoe with aspect-ed element. [80 potency] [Cannot be used on self] Single Target.

    Faith: Increases targets magic attack potency damage [10%] while reducing magic damage taken. [Cannot be used on self] Single Target.

    Reflect: For a moderate duration. 15% chance to reflect most spells. [Can not be used on self] Single Target.

    Shell: Single target spell that reduces magic damage taken. [Cannot be used on self] (Already exists in protect)



    Pros:

    *Now can affect the dps of the party members directly
    *Can mitigate damage without looking like a SCH/AST copy cat
    *Stronger mana recovery


    Cons:
    *Mana recovery may be too strong.
    *SCH's will ask for a stronger shield and/or a way to affect party damage
    *Aside from Reflect RNG is not involved in any of these skills.

    i know this is "has been done" healing skill in many mmo but i just realized i never see this kind of healing skill in this game...

    - cast it to your target leaving mark/buff on him, it will heal him when he get hit then jump to other party member -

    - sustain ground aoe heal, you leave an aoe heal on ground and anyone pass through/stay on it will get heal/regen something like that -

    *never main WHM so if that skill already exist, my bad*

    I like this one, both for function and for flavor, but I initially read it as "Oil of Olay." Moisturize party members with high potency, cleanse crow's feet and other aging debuffs, and repel nearby enemies with an overwhelming wave of synthetic fragrance? OP :P
