    [Suggestion] A Possible Implementation for Skill Chains and Magic Burst in FF14

    It's a passing idea that went through my head and I know it probably wouldn't be well-received in a game like FF14 that has strict rotations for maximum output. This suggestion was probably also submitted before by other people, I never read their threads so I dunno what they actually suggested.

    I was thinking about how one could possibly implement something like Skill Chains and the Magic Burst system FF11 had into FF14.

    Considering how weaponskills in FF11 functioned more like Limit Breaks since all TP generated is used. FF14 could design it basically around a personal limit break bar or even use PVP's name for it which was "Adrenaline".

    With this have personal limit break skills that a player would set to use their own limit break bar. If players choose to, they can use the personal limit break skills in a certain order to do Skill Chains and another can trigger magic burst that way. Course, since this is a very strict rotational-based game it would need to be designed in a way that, well, doesn't interrupt people's want for that strict rotation or have the pay off be big.

    This was just a passing thought in my head on how, if possible, would Skill Chains and Magic Burst ever be implemented in a game like FF14.

    What does everyone else think about this? I'm sorry if this exact mechanic was already suggested in other threads, I didn't actually bother going out of the way to look.

    EDIT: Also sorry if this is in the wrong section, but the other feedback section seems to have been limited to only in regards to the forum and website so I didn't know where to actually put this.

    It's been talked about many times throughout the years. Same with 1.0's original Battle Regimen system, which was similar. The issues and arguments always being about GCDs and game speed. Many jobs do not have the time for this in their rotations. Something you did not have to worry about in 1.0 launch and XI. Plus 1.0 and XI are slower paced.

    Yeah I figured the strict rotations would be the main thing about it. Even if it could be used in an off-GCD setting, the possibility of the skill animation being too long is a thing.
