    Marauder End-Game Skills

    Hello.

It's in my experience that I am better and learn more if I practice skills I'll be needing in the end, so I was hoping that some end-game marauders would do me the kindness of telling me what skills you all use, and when, why, etc. That way I can begin practicing and figuring it out without needing to be an embarrassment when I first hit 50. >> My Pug accomplishes that on it's own.

Lol, AoE Tanking certainly seems simple. Surprising.

The basics are simple. Doing it well, however, is hard.

You have to know what to do to pull hate away from your other party members, should the get aggro.

You need to keep an eye out for party members who have aggro and quickly target the attacking mob and taunt it away.

You need to know how to pull as many mobs to you as fast as possible while keeping hate on most or all of them.

You need to know what to do when your health gets dangerously low in order to stay alive until that next heal.

I am to understand Gladiator is winning in health by a small amount these days, is there a specific health amount I should be aiming for or is natural health gain from predetermined stat values enough?

    Doesn't really matter.

You may as well double HP meld your belt and boots, nothing better to put in there, really.

For what it's worth, my usual HP in full tanking gear with food is over 4000 HP.

Like anything else in any mmo... shit's situational.

High hp is necessary when you fight something that can devastate your hp in a short time. (Bosses)

    Otherwise, just forget about it.

Accomplice, Sentinel and Second Wind II are your "gamebreakers."

Taunt sucks. Provoke 2 gives 2x the enmity and even that is only needed on bosses like Ifrit. Accomplice is so powerful... all those other hate moves pale in comparison (on long fights).

Traits are huge... pug-manship, gla-manship, lnc-manship, bow-manship, fleet o foot, intimidation, prime conditioning*

*The description on prime conditioning is incorrect. Should read "increases healing effects BY you by 10%" (not ON you)

Ah, I see, wasn't aware of the clause on the Prime Conditioning.

This is basically what I do. Usually a Bloodbath on the second Storm's Path. I tried this in attack gear and defense gear and I find that I prefer defense gear + Defender even if I'm not strictly tanking. Sticking monsters on you like glue, giving others a piece of mind (mages mostly) , makes your whole party run far more efficient, resulting in faster kills.
