Although I would like to see Rune Fencer/Mystic Knight, I feel like they would be way too similar to DRK.
After SAM I think they'll delve into original jobs for Tanks, but I have to agree I can't see another tank as of now that would fit the bill to the popularity of Samurai.

If you could link something, anything, where he officially says SAM will be a tank that'd be great. Because, as far as I'm aware that was never officially stated.

Exact words from the interview. If it were Samurai, he felt DPS would fit better. As a Tank, Shogun would be better fitting. Unless there's another article I'm unaware of..

IIRC during the Heavensward set of fanfests they were thinking about adding SAM but they didn't think it fit as a tank so they went with DRK instead. That was a long time ago though.

So with Red Mage, we finally have a sword DPS. I am ok with this. Even if Samurai doesn't become a DPS, i finally have a sword DPS to play as so i'm happy.

That said, we have a 1-handed sword dps and it would be cool to have Samurai as our 2-handed sword dps. At this point however, I don't mind if it becomes tank or not since i have Red Mage.

Btw, i main tank atm and prefer Samurai to be DPS.

People saying that the majority of people is DPS so ofcourse majority will vote on samurai dps is like saying everyone is going to vote White Mage to be a dps. I really don't think the majority of the players are going to vote White Mage to be a dps. I can't predict what the masses will do tho...

What I think would be interesting is if we got Blue Mage to be a tank. Would be cool and they could Dual Wield aswell (Which is what shippuu wants i think?)
