You'll get the votes, no denying that. Whatever comfort that gives you and your roving FATE armies and three fellow PoTD Samurai compatriots will simply have to be enough when you can't progress in the MSQ due to congested DF DPS ques.
Pffft. Like DPS never had to deal with that on a daily basis
RDM is sad
DPS is always the most popular so of course any requests for any job to be a DPS would be showed with praise by people, I said it before but if we had to vote on it we would never get another new healer or tank again.
this I can agree with, but if they want to make a Tank then use a Tank job don't take what is a DPS "Dark Knight" and make it a tank just cause we need one, hell add in 100 tanks and healers just don't use the jobs that are defined by most as DPS and turn them into one. In turn then never being able to play them as DPS in the future.

Now this here is an issue. Look up the definition of Samurai. People need to own the fact that what they are really pleading for is less responsibility. You are correct in that adding a hundred Tanking jobs wouldn't make it any more popular, however you are wrong in believing series hallmarks like the Genji armor, Drawout skills, Cyan (a literal Knight of Doma), Seigan + Third eye, are just a few of many staples if the job and series, by all means look that up as well. Samurai in FFXI was a Tank, the path of least resistance made Ninja a Tank and reversed it's intended function there.
As important as your enjoyment of the game is so to is the that of a populace not represented enough through all mmo's. DPS are a dime a dozen, with more options than any other role. Even when it come to cultural representation. Should not an Eastern job show that can also Tank? Or is that the providence of Warriors and Knights? I guess Samurai in your book could never stand among them in vanguard then? An argument often used is that no roles exist in non online offerings of the FF series, however in most cases a Samurai could use heavy armor... imagine that. In FFXI as stated before it was meant for the front line. If we take the definition of Samurai it means what? So tell me again, apart from anime Ronin what definitions of Samurai are you going by?
I very well aware Samurai was a tank in FFXI I main it and loved it even tanking in that game, even have an Amanomurakumo I lvl 119 to prove it, but that game is different in that it allowed any job to be nearly anything they wanted to be if you put enough effort. And in this game its one way period no room to experiment, so if I were to choose which part of a samurai I like the best it is DPS
I will be devastated if we don't get a new healer. I only really like to heal, and having options like dps do would be fantastic /:
Yes, please.
Reasons:
1. Already have 2 swordsman jobs for the tank role.
2. Still no sword user job for DD.
3. Ninja is the only slashing DD.
4. Yoshida-san said that Samurai would be a DD and we all know that he's a man of his word.
Yeah, all the jobs using swords and axes are tanks so a DD one would be nice for a change for those who would like to play a DD job with a sword. Samurai would be perfect for that.
I'm glad we finally get an INT new job finally. I love to play mage in games and MMOs and an INT job was really needed here. And yes, there is a lack of STR too and SAM would fit perfectly I agree.
And I'm used to queue time as a DPS, I read books while I wait, take notes for a course I'm doing, etc.

English is NOT my mother language, French is. Use my recruitment code MV9YGNXD before paying your sub and get cool items. http://sqex.to/Cz9
And there comes the shifting goalposts and excuses. "It's not a REAL sword DPS".
