People gotta stop quoting an interview Yoshi did OVER TWO YEARS AGO as a reason for why it can't be BLU.

That would be valid if it weren't for the fact he literally reiterated that very same idea on stage during his Naoki's Room segment with his last guest. Reaffirming his idea of Blue Mage not working in the normal sense and being a solo content type of job, where the point of the job is to simply gather monster abilities for the collection aspect and acting as a sort of "Professor of Monsters."

I also feel since he brought up Blue Mage then, and discussed it, that it is absolutely less likely to be in 4.0 as a result. Considering he avoids and deflects hints towards correct guesses, it was odd he'd bring up blue mage (especially in response to his guest basically asking for samurai tank), and to me says that blue mage won't be in 4.0 at least.

Also, you gotta remember that they benched Samurai from Ishgard because it didn't make sense thematically. SAM doesn't fit in Ala Mhigo either.

That's because with heavensward the jobs were located inside Ishgard, and arguably Astrologian has almost nothing to do with Ishgard either. We know with Stormblood this is absolutely not the case, as all the new jobs will start in ARR locations. Thus none of them have to originate from Ala Mhigo or its surrounding areas (Obviously Red Mage is likely of Sharlayan origins, and begins in Ul'dah).

Every job can be added anywhere as long as appropriate writing is created so that it makes sense in the game's setting and lore. Machinist made zero sense to come from the Knightly and Medieval themed Ishgard yet SE made them fit just fine.
