You shouldn't need a new tank or a new healer to justify continuing to play a tank job or a healer job. This mindset of treating tanks and healers as a "role" you play rather than individual jobs to enjoy independently has always confused me, honestly. People who play Dragoon don't act like they need a new DPS to keep enjoying Dragoon, do they? Would there really be Black Mages whining about their role if Red Mage had been a melee job instead of a caster, even though Red Mage has nothing to do with the state of Black Mage?

I think some at least are wanting a new tank due to the current roster possibly not fitting either their aesthetic, or maybe playstyle. With a new tank comes the chance it'll fit their niche.

I doubt we ever could see a melee-range healer as there exists healer focused mechanics that require you to not be near people, or at least be in a specific position. Even going onward of not having those mechanics anymore, the older content will still exist.

I don't think the issue is that people need a new tank or healer job to continue to enjoy playing an existing tank or healer job. I prefer to tank and will always prefer to tank, and, given the three options, I have settled in on the option I enjoy the most. However, a new tank job means a new job for the role I enjoy, and I might end up enjoying the new option more. If we get only 2 new dps jobs, people who enjoy playing in the tank or healer role do not have as much to look forward to because, even though RDM and whatever else might look cool, they are never going to seriously play those DPS jobs, whereas if a tank or healer job is also released, they have a potential new main job if they end up enjoying the playstyle of that new job.

At this point, we don't "need" one of any particular role more than any other, unless someone wants to suggest we need two new Shooters back-to-back. We probably don't need to be brought up to six Ranged DPS in 4.0.

Sorry, which universe did this happen in? I don't remember them "trolling" us by leaving fake "JobRun" files behind to trick us into thinking we'd get Rune Fencer instead of Dark Knight.

I was meaning to say that they trolled in general about what was coming. Not that they necessarily put fake files in the game. They intentionally toss out red herrings for everyone to chase, to keep the speculation hype train rolling. Yoshida, himself, trolled that the shirts meant nothing, when in fact they did (for HW). I learned early on (with FFXI) that they love to throw out random information for us to chase. They've had more fun with it on this game, however.

To troll the community on this sort of level with a job that has such huge hype would be crazy. Regardless of knowing and disliking the game gets datamined, the dataminers share their finding's with the community as a whole, not only are they trolling the dataminers but the vast majority of the community.

Also just a little input but does anyone remember when Yoshi-P specially requested dataminers to shut their sites down until the Early access/Official Launch of Heavensward? And the dataminers did just that, surely that deserves some respect right?

Every game gets datamined... No one can just counter me and say "They shouldn't do it in the first place" Like what can you honestly expect?

I don't think so. And I'm too much of a wuss to go out and break some rules to try and see if that moral view is commonly accepted among policemen.

It is my hope there are three jobs, but it's kinda feeling like there will only be two. On one hand, they only "announced" DRK and MCH with the Batman and 007 shirts, and AST was a total surprise. On the other hand, the post about being "one of two" jobs is worrisome. I'm very excited for Red Mage, but feel if the only other job we get is Samurai, I will feel disappointed as I really have no interest in Samurai.

I was truly hoping for Dancer to come in and be a new, fresh healer. Doubt it will happen though.
