I really don't understand why people would want a class that would be dead in a month because the class abilities itself are Monster Skills which would be either nerfed to hell, or broken. Theres barely an counter balance: Bad Breath = all status effects?! Even if they don't last long and monsters can grant immunity, the ability itself can fall into either BROKEN/WEAK categories. So many monster abilities are either weak in the game to begin with they would have to be fully reworked before release for the class itself. Wouldn't even be worth it in the end because people would be complaining BLU would be too weak to play and eventually give up on it and move on causing it to be dead upon release

Sadly when it comes to blue and status effects, sure during a normal FF game they may be amazing because most enemies can be affected but here in an MMO setting, I feel they would just be flavor. Like a BLU who were to use a Wyvern Fire breath would be no more amazing in power than a WAR's overpower (maybe more potency depending on role), mainly that a BLU will learn skills which have to basically attack or do what we already are used to. Debuff, silence, stun and the like which could be handled by a MCH or others already set. Don't get me wrong though, it could work out well in ways we never thought and I would still welcome a BLU cus it is still a change of pace but I am so used to them having all these special effects from skills as well.

I am jumping on the Blue Mage bandwagon. All of the previous shirts were quite literal in pointing out the new job names or abilities. Spiderman got his powers from being bitten by a spider (the most obvious clue I think).

Web slinging was never one of Spiderman's powers, it was an invention he made to supplement his new powers and identity, so anything web or string related is a no in my book.

The samurai clue is reaching in my opinion. The man's name is not literally samurai, it resembles samurai. Anyone else wanna go through the staff listings of any other Spiderman movie and cherry pick staff names that resemble final fantasy classes? Spiderman has never been a Samurai. Samurai Spiderman is a random toy in a Bandai series that depicted several superheroes in Samurai form.

The only other job assumption I could agree with beyond Blue Mage is Beastmaster, since Spiderman fights several animal themed villains, but that idea seems less likely to me than Blue Mage.

No. If I were a game director and asked such a direct question I would probably react the same way. Idk why people think he would straight up say it DOES have something to do with the name of the director of Spider Man. He's also trolley as hell. I also really doubt BLU will be introduced along with RDM because that would be 2 Caster DPS in 1 expansion, wut? Unless they make it something else.

*sigh* I continue to be unimpressed by Beatmaster, Puppetmaster and Blue Mage. Red mage, depending on how it is implemented might be good.

At the end of the day I'd like to have seen a sword based DPS(Samurai), Samurai I would play. Agility based job(Dancer) could be any of the trinity roles, I'd play any of them; we don't have a physical healer, so an agile job that can rush in and provide close range healing would seem to fit well. One other thing I would like to see is a DoM tank. (Edit: Having read the famitsu interview, RDM is obviously DPS, so the following speculation matters not)Red mage could actually be this considering it's history of wearing real armor, using a physical weapon, and having access to magic, but somehow I doubt this will happen.

I guess we are doomed to a bazillion RDM and BlueMage/BeastMaster/PuppetMaster wannabes in the early months of StormBlood.
