Black Mage and White Mage both use Staves.

I know they look very similar, but White Mages use Radicals and Wands

A wand or radical is a short, one-handed, length of unworked wood which is used to focus aether until it manifests as a desired spell.

While Black Mages use Scepters and Staffs.

A scepter, cudgel, brand, or rod is a short, one-handed, length made of metal and/or bone, within which is housed a medium -- a natural stone imbued with magical properties.

I'd like to see Blue Mage incorporated with Beastmaster and Morpher elements to be honest, so I wouldn't be opposed to a whip.

I got to say, a BST/BLU combination would actually be very interesting.
