I know this will come across as nitpicking, but I think the greater issue is, it'd be a stretch on realism. Every other Job/Class we can explain in combat without much difficulty. By contrast, a Chemist would require a stock of items, or at least ingredients, to constantly be making the materials they need to perform in a combat situation. Pockets and Bags can only hold so much, after all.
lol to even mention realism in a game where the developer literally said "You know why we can breathe underwater? because magic" is a stretch in of itself.
