I just rechecked the second article, and there was nothing more than a small blurb about NA players speculating about one of the new jobs being Blue Mage and how Yoshida thinks learning gameplay is interesting and was considering making it a solo-only class. Again, nothing about being the distant future, quite the opposite, the near future (将来的).

The third article doesn't even quote Yoshida's words about Blue Mage, just paraphrases (technically, neither does the 2nd), and they even misquote the intended paraphrase. And again, even in the inaccurate paraphrase, it says nothing close to what was said in 2014.

No, you have one article quoting Yoshida's exact words that say that he's thinking it won't be solo-only but will change to more of a "Monster Expert", and you have other articles, one of which references YP's statements from 2014, and another which inaccurately paraphrases what Yoshida said in the interview where the first article makes the correct quote.

2 of the 3 articles I posted state he said it was going to be a solo job, here's a third (as well as another 10 years one), and a fourth and I'm sure I can dig up more. So considering there's an abundance reporting on him saying he wants it as a solo job, and only a single one saying he said he didn't, you have no place to say anything like which one is the "intended" one, or which one is Yoshida's "exact words".

You have to consider how the game works. You can't have a real solo job if he can't face every challenge by itself...but you can't have a job that can face every challenge by itself when you have a system that revolves around party content...

All the sources I posted are not second hand information, they're all various news outlets and blogs that reported on the event, Kaedan is arguing that only the Famitsu article counts because it listed it's information in the form of a quote instead of simply reporting on it, whereas I've posted a variety of sources including ones featuring commentary/reactions from watchers of the event during it. These are all situations of first hand information.

You don't get to hand wave any article not conforming to your idea as being second hand information. You have zero evidence what's first hand and what's second hand, they're all reporting the same event, many of which during the live-stream as it happened, it doesn't get more first hand then that.

When I don't have access to the direct source itself, then yes, I will trust a source that offers what it claims to be direct quotes of YP over summary blurbs. Especially when that source is an official, professional organization over random bloggers. And yes, they are random bloggers that you have listed. Not a single one of the links you provided except for Famitsu (which is the one that claims to actually quote YP rather than summarize) is a professional news reporter.

But hey, I'm more than willing to provide you an accurate translation of what YP actually says if you want to give me access to the video somehow. Until such time, I'm going to accept that the professional organization is actually quoting YP when they claim to be actually quoting YP. There are millions of people who believe in gods... having a lot of something doesn't make it credible.
