I wish all the new jobs were dps because I don't like tanking or healing as much. The current dps jobs are a lot alike and a bit boring at this point. MCH didn't really bring anything new to the table.

On the other hand, not making any new tanks or healers will make the dps queues really bad and I don't want that either. Not just for launch times but for later too. 3 tanks, 3 healers, 8 dps (including RDM) fills up three dungeon groups and leaves two dps without a tank and healer. If you add Samurai dps to the mix you get three dungeon groups and three leftover dps. As much as I'd like to try Samurai dps I'd also like to get to play the game within a reasonable amount of time.

The reason I mentioned Samurai as the new job is because of the datamined files and that the in-game Yoshi-P dialogue from The Rising mentioned clear as day only the jobs Red Mage and Samurai. I'll leave the shirt speculation to others. :P

I wish Jobs could change Roles by equipping different weapons, rather than a weapon determining the job. Take Arcanist/Summoner/Scholars. Nix Scholars, it's just Summoner, but you can equip a heal book to summon faeries and use spells like that, or a DPS book to summon egi's and use offense spells.

    That's how DCUO does it.

Not really. in DCUO, you are locked into a power set unless you spend money in the cash shop to get a power change token. Each power set has a "role" setting and a "dps" setting, so you can freely switch between those, but that's the extent. You can change your weapon, yes, but it doesn't change the role you play.

I think this should be a thing.

No more damage spells either. Dungeons now work by boring enemies enough that they'll fall asleep so you can sneak past them to their loot cache.

That has nothing to do with my comment. What I tried to show is that everyone have their preferences, so people should stop with the "we don't need any more role x or role y" because THERE ARE people that would like to have new eolw x or y jobs.

I don't think you read my comment fully if all you got from it was me telling that new tank and healer jobs are not needed. I quite clearly stated that adding more jobs to only one role is not good for the game.

And water is wet. I don't think it really needs to be spelled out.

Any argument on need or not need is valid, but only in regards to the respective goal they want to achieve. If you want to tie shoelaces, you need a shoelace, if you prefer zippers you need a zipper and no shoelace. If you want no shoes at all, you need neither, but you might still want them for your sick zipper fetish.

As such, people should definitely keep the "need" arguments coming! But they should always state what they need or not need it for.
