    That's a bit tricky.

    On march 2015, at PAX, the dev-team said that doing the three jobs for Heavensward was very difficult and they don't want to do the same. But, like I said earlier, they had the task of designing those three jobs while creating Ninja for 2.4. So, we can assume that they won't design four jobs at the same time, which can realistically be the reason why Yoshi-P officialy stated, at the launch of Heavensward, that they won't create another job mid-expansion.

    So, two jobs is a possibility, but there was no official statement to confrm that, unless you consider the NA fanfest tweet, that was mysteriously updated to remove the number...

    I must have gotten word of mouth mixed up with everything, so that's on me. And yeah, too many unknowns with the tweet, I've set that to the side.

    There'd be no grudge held from me if there's only the two, only a little bit sad nothing new would be directly relating to Ala Mhigo. BLU and DNC, the popular targets, sound neat but they're far from my favorite jobs among the franchise. That's reserved for BST, which people have thrown out there too weirdly enough though that's among the most unlikely, and WAR which we have.

    It is kind of sad, but in the end, I think that's a smart choice. Locking jobs behind story progression, although not a big deal for me, was heavily criticized in HW. By separating the lore for the jobs and the events of the MSQ, you ensure that your newly hyped toy will be available for everybody.

    And it's weirdly fun to see "old" jobs being trendy again

    This is my reasoning why the other job is not likely to be BLU. The amount of work BLU will require to make it how the players expect it to be requires an overhaul of the entire game database. Every monster would have to be modified to make abilities learn-able from them. I can imagine how the job would work. you would have base action types slots and you would be able to learn different monster ability to fill those slots. It won't have the customization as FFXI's BLU but you will get a job that can be configured to fill all roles. But probably limited to only playing one at a time with some cross over ability. meaning of the available monster abilities in a slot, some abilities are role locked. Also due to the fact that BLU can play all roles, when they release it, it would be the only job added in that expansion, for the point of job balance.

    My reasoning for getting 2 jobs is right now we need a support job and a caster job to bring balance to all job roles. right now we have 3 tanks, 3 healers, 3 dps, 2 support, and 2 casters. sadly with 5 different roles, they really should rebuild parties to 5 light, 10 full. But I don't see that happening.

    You are wildly overstating how relevant "customization" is to Blue Mage in the first place, which is to say it isn't at all.

    Let me also say that Support literally is not a thing that exists. There is only Melee DPS, Shooter DPS, and Caster DPS.
