Dancer = Capoeira using tank confirmed.

While I don't have the translation on hand, if he did specifically bring up the director in some way, it was almost certainly for a reason. If it wasn't related to the job(SamuRaimi), then he could've very easily let the community distract itself away from other possible candidates. By specifically denying the director name, he's in fact leaving clues to direct attention in a certain direction.
Or it could just be a Red Herring.

you kind of need to stretch it with spiderman...cause there's nothing else obvious that comes to mind.
if it's caster, it's not going to do piercing damage -for convenience it's going to be int based magic damage, unless it has a bunch of melee combos - but it seems it's only using sword skills as a combo finisher, to jump back.
well we'll see.
that's the biggest leap in logic i have seen in a long time...
he also said they were considering drk and sam for tank in HW, and decided to make drk as tank "instead"
he also said, SAM feels more like a DPS, so if they add it, it will likely be DPS.
there it is again....hybrid job=DOESN'T WORK IN FFXIV (unless you mean that healer has melee ranged heals, and need to melee-heal tanks, which would kill the healer more times than not)
That's the history of Kapoeira, so it's not a rad and far fetched idea, and yes it would work....but derplander is monk, and she's fighting him in the same way, so she IS monk - it's the theme of the expansion, and the trailer is an expansion/job trailer, and you have 2 monks fighting in a very monk-like setting (i heard that yoshi even said at the time of the trailer release, that they both were monks, though i have no idea if that's true)
If you know anything about Chinese and Japanese martial arts, you know that martial artists are always practicing forms through "dance-like motions" that doesn't make them dancers; that's like saying that bodybuilders are athletes, because they warm up by stretching.

It's rad to me..lol opinions are subjective you know? Or are you not aware of that? Seeing as how I worked with trainers to teach me how to do dancing and fighting...it is not far fetched. I literally have done this IRL for movies and TV. Dancer was in FFXI you know, and it worked just fine. I also played dancer in many other MMOs, like Lineage II. Blade Dancer was so much fun.
Also no, again she is neither confirmed to be monk or anything, and here is the source:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...ida_after_nas/
Or you going to somehow try to discredit him saying that? For all we know she could be a random NPC with no job.No comment on whether the female is a dancer or a monk.
Could you please show me your source where he said she IS monk? I'll wait
edit: lol also, someone said the main villain is holding a katana?
"When asked on the weapon Zenos held, Yoshida said that "while the weapons he hold doesn't really relate to his character, but if asked whether he's holding a gunblade then yes he is holding a gunblade." Yoshida told the interviewer to look closely at his artwork later and see if they can notice something from it. "
Its a gunblade.

well it is rad, i just meant it's not a novel idea that someone made up, since it's actual history.
that's from an interview after fan fest, and apparently he said at fanfest that they are both monks - but whatever, i don't care, i know she's monkif she's a dancer, then dancer is basically a monk clone = booooo (unless she's like Thancred, and is multiple class/jobs)
well katana has a blade too, so gunkatana?
Isn't that what DRG does already, pure physical 2 hand weapon dps? often you tend to forget this point (or deny it outright) the fact that DRG already has a 2 handed weapon pure physical DPS. Except the weapon and maybe a gimmick in the way to attack it will fit the same role. It's often said and everytime it's ignored (by you).
Your bunk arguments get annihilated when they get flipped on you which just shows how ridiculous they are.
But how is it as a DPS any different than the existing ones then? Oh wait, I remember your old ideas "It won't have positionals! SO ORIGINAL AND FRESH". It's so clear your mind cannot fathom actually original ideas so of course you will never think up interesting ideas for any job, regardless of it's role.the point to add a new jobs it's to offer a new way to play, here the samurai will barely be different than the war....
Oh right, there it is. Slow big hits, like DRG! No positionals! Like how Ninja had (yet they changed that right quick). Your ideas are pathetic and I'm glad you have no involvement in this game's development (and hopefully anything else).what he can bring to the dps? slow burst dps, job that will strike hard and not really fast, not forced to be based on positional and more based on the of the skill. because soo far i feel the positional recquirement have become a shackle that limite what they can add to as jobs.

The spiderman shirt makes much more sense as a clue for blue mage. Spiderman has probably one of the most famous origin stories of any super hero - he's bitten by a spider and receives spider-like powers.
Sam Raimi is a has-been director of a nearly 20 year old movie series... If it's a clue for Samurai it's a bad one that isn't in keeping with any of his other tshirt hints.
There are a lot of people who want/expect samurai who are suffering from confirmation bias.
If we are able to actually use a weapon for the first time that the Garleans made then yeah, that would be possible, but so far we never have been able to wield their weapons >_< and yes I agree..a monk clone would be boring and I don't like playing MNK at all lol. If dancer does ever come to this game, I hope its a fast paced dps with lots of cool dance/slash moves.
I can't wait till 3.5 so we will finally know what the heck she is. I still think shes gonna be a unique thing...like most of the NPC's. I'm not holding my breath for dancer cuz I know I'll be disappointed if it doesn't come in 4.0 ; ;
That event was the war of magi, which started the 6th umbral era. Nym, Amdapoor and Mhach were at war against each over. At one point the elementals decided that enough is enough and summoned a big flood. After it the magic art became a forbidden art and everyone who used it got hunted down until the 6th astral era began and everyone calmed down.
