I would honestly wait for a full translation, There are some weird guesses by people. But with what partial translations I'm seeing, he's either saying it doesn't have to do with the director and he knows there are multiple directors to the spiderman films, or the spiderman shirt has nothing to do with jobs. the "dancer" in stormblood trailer, isn't a dancer, she's a monk, just like derplander; she's not dancing, she's practicing martial art stances...like they do in every single asian martial arts movie, that's ever been made.
do they need to hint at jobs, in ARR, before they can release it in 5.0? do they need to patch in hints a year in advance?

Dancer fits in easily. Seeing as how they showed derplander as a monk and the girl in the red dancing, someone offered a really interesting theory - That the Ala Mhigo people taught dancers to fight so the Garleans wouldn't take notice. So while it looks like people are dancing they are actually training them as fighters :P If they did that I would be impressed...it's a pretty rad idea. Far fetched..I dunno, but its creative at least.

I took martial arts from Jason Frank..he taught me how to dance and fight. It's not that far fetched..lol and as an actress I have had quite a lot of roles where they ask me to dance and fight, like how the girl in red did. It is not unheard of. :P

And no, she is not a "monk" she is nothing as of right now. Yoshida already said he is not commenting whatsoever on what she is and we will find out in 3.5. Please stop posting false info.

you kind of need to stretch it with spiderman...cause there's nothing else obvious that comes to mind.

outside this, redmage is not a blade dps, it's mage dps that have a few melee attack, it was said while the key note, using chain magic, before do a melee attack and finish with chain magic, even in the video it's clear, you wee the redmage mix the two, here i'm talking of a pure physical blade class, it's one of the most iconic stuff of the ff franchise and we haven't get one yet, what it's a big let's down.

ps: i highly suspect the red mage to be a piercing dps by the way

if it's caster, it's not going to do piercing damage -for convenience it's going to be int based magic damage, unless it has a bunch of melee combos - but it seems it's only using sword skills as a combo finisher, to jump back.

It's rad to me..lol opinions are subjective you know? Or are you not aware of that? Seeing as how I worked with trainers to teach me how to do dancing and fighting...it is not far fetched. I literally have done this IRL for movies and TV. Dancer was in FFXI you know, and it worked just fine. I also played dancer in many other MMOs, like Lineage II. Blade Dancer was so much fun.

If we are able to actually use a weapon for the first time that the Garleans made then yeah, that would be possible, but so far we never have been able to wield their weapons >_< and yes I agree..a monk clone would be boring and I don't like playing MNK at all lol. If dancer does ever come to this game, I hope its a fast paced dps with lots of cool dance/slash moves.

I can't wait till 3.5 so we will finally know what the heck she is. I still think shes gonna be a unique thing...like most of the NPC's. I'm not holding my breath for dancer cuz I know I'll be disappointed if it doesn't come in 4.0 ; ;

SCH and WAR are examples of a Healer and Tank who are capable of putting out quite a bit of damage, do you consider them hybrids? If a Healer is already capable of dealing a fair chunk of damage, why must it be magic? why NOT melee?
Also, a melee class that fills a healer role is hardly a new one. Off of the top of my head there's (of course) DNC in FFXI, Disciple of Khaine in Warhammer Online, or Chanter in Aion
