i dunno about you guys but that sounds like a teaser for some story and ominous events to come and get excited for as we move towards 3.5 to 4.0, it absolutely does not sound even the tiniest bit like they're hinting a job /facepalm

As much as I hope (and believe) Blue Mage is coming, I don't think the poem is a hint at any new jobs. My interpretation of it is more closely related to the coming conflict with the Garleans and war torn Ala Mihgo with a hint at Rhalgr, deity of Destruction.
Look ye where the sun doth rise,
See crimson embers, dark'ning skies,
This part might be implying that buildings and cities are burning, blocking out the sun making the skies dark.
Look ye where the sun doth fall,
See azure lost amidst the squall.
Possibly hinting that Rhalgr the destroyer, playing a part in some destruction of the (azure) sea or skies in the form of violent storms. Dunno though, would be awesome if it is intended to be Blue Mage confirmation.

Part of me wants it to be Samurai, but one has to wonder, will SE release two sword wielders this expansion? If the rumours are correct that we will not have 3, but 2 classes, then do you think SE will release two jobs that wield a 1h sword?
I honestly don't think SE give a damn about weapon type, but how interesting they can make the weapon look.
I read the JP forums a bit (and struggled) but from the sounds of it they think SAM will use a Katana + Elemental Chamber. I've seen some Western players say that too, and obviously their getting this idea from Zenos who seems to be wielding either a fiery Katana or Allagan Katana, with a big scabbard with multiple chambers to put the blade in and take a new one out, like attachments to the hilt. I've also heard it's a revolver scabbard but I think that would be an exclusive Garlean feature.
It would suck to have a Samurai like NPC and not give it to players as well until another few years, so I'm still sticking to SAM being the next job, just my thoughts though.

Interesting. What did Yoshi say about that antagonist? Like something related to him may be related to our character?
I can only vaguely remember. It was something to do with the weapon not being related to him? it wasn't a great translation so it was hard to make out, but I do recall Yoshi telling us to examine him and see if we can find anything about him that might give us a hint or something, idk. I'll try and find the interview about it.
Edit: found it.
"F: It seems like he holds a katana. By some chance, does he…?
Y: His weapon has nothing to do with his personality, but if you’re asking if it’s a gunblade then yes, it is. Try to look at his art again (laugh). We received a lot of thoughts from players that they wanted to work for Gaius because the 3 cities were “brown noses” so they couldn’t bring themselves to like them. In case of Zenos, I think no one will think of him like that. (laugh) He’s a type of villain you haven’t seen so far."

Yea the translation was awful, it was like he was dropping a hint how SAM will be.I can only vaguely remember. When I read this I immediately thought of the villain from 13 assassins. YoshiP seems to be implying its the kind of villain where his motivations arent sympathetic or understandable, whereas Gaius had a more ends-justifies-the-means misguided nobility to his actions."F: It seems like he holds a katana. By some chance, does he…?

If you haven't seen 13 assasins before its a great samurai movie with a sadistic warlord as the main antagonist. Think Joffrey with a katana.
Keeping the topic on the rails I'm in the BLU camp at the moment, the whole spider-man getting his powers from a creature seems the most logical interpretation so far. I'm thinking DoM melee with BRD/MCH style support abilities.
You're missing the fun of speculating.
And I accept your argument that we'll be seeing 3 jobs: SAM, RDM, BLU. :-p
