I want Samurai TANK, that being said i don't see how it could be anything other than Blue Mage TANK. Good old spidey got his abilities from a spider bite, even has the line of with "With great power comes great responsibility." (job quest names would literally write themselves). Mind you in my head, BLU and RDM DPS makes the most sense with SAM TANK following them (given what hints have been teased). However even in this setup the idea of two DPS at launch seem like a nightmarish mess waiting to happen in the DF ques.

I have a thought about the shirt's suggestion that is wildly out there, and based on something very minor, though I'm unsure how it would work out.
Let's not look at Spider-Man, but look at Peter Parker. What is Peter Parker's profession? Let me quote Marvel's own site for those unfamiliar with the history.
"To help his Aunt May with finances, Peter took a freelance job at the Daily Bugle selling pictures of himself as Spider-Man to publisher J. Jonah Jameson."
What if the new job is Freelancer? Think about it for a moment. They want to compact cross-class skills. Why not make a job based on someone that could do anything? If it starts at 50, it means they can add the skills commonly used to that at start. I have no idea how you'd get cross-class before then though.
Though has there been confirmation that the second job will start at 50? It could start at level 1, and replace the class system entirely. It can use all weapons, and just like now, you get your quests from that guild's leader. But rather than gear, you learn the general skills that would've all been cross-classed with each quest, rather than leveling 2-3 jobs to get everything. All 1-30 new characters post-expansion are freelancers rather than a class, but they can still choose a starter weapon.
This way, people won't have the excuse that they don't have a skill, because they can learn it all with one class at the appropriate level.
I'm not sure what they could do post-30 though, other than adding some more abilities.
Once you switch jobs, the ability that you would've had will be placed in the same place as now.
This is just a rough idea I thought of during my break, but that's almost over so maybe I can add more later.![]()

Anyone know what the JP are guessing? I know they've been saying DNC for a while now since the storm blood trailer.

There is no evidence relating the t-shirt to movie references only, just speculation. And even if we only considered movie references, a director's name that resembles the word "samurai" is not spectacular.snip
That said, Rogue is not a Blue Mage in the sense that Spiderman is. Spiderman received his powers after being bitten by a spider (he was attacked). Rogue needs to make physical contact with mutants for prolonged periods of time to receive their powers (she attacks them). Rogue's gain of power is also not permanent unless she kills the mutant with her power. However, Kimari from FFX gets Blue Magic powers by attacking enemies with Lancet, so maybe a parallel can be drawn there...
And, no, the first thing I think about when seeing a spider is "spider bite". I have good reason to think most people agree, seeing as how many people are afraid of spiders while their webs pose no threat to us.
You cannot take anything for granted, change eventually swallows everything you may try to immortalize.
Some blue abilities aren't gained by being attacked by them because they're not offensive abilities (pearl wind, big guard.) And Rogue vs Spiderman: Rogue can gain abilities on an ongoing basis, Spiderman was essentially one time and done. So there are ways that Rogue fits a bit better, but Spiderman is so ambiguous it leads to continual speculation. That said, Rogue is not a Blue Mage in the sense that Spiderman is. To me the Samurai/Sam Raimi connection is too solid to not be the correct reference. I don't know how people see it as being "far fetched" when Samurai has been hinted via an in-game event in the past. Most of the other possibilities seem more far fetched than that.
Though Blue Mage would be awesome. I'm not sure how it would fit into the framework of FFXIV, but it would be super cool to see it.

Well, because all the previous shirts have never been like that. Batman was the Dark Knight, 007 was MCH and AST (Cuz James Bond uses a gun and AST as the tarot villain in live or let die) Scarlet Witch , Red Mage...all of them have had to do with fictional characters related to the shirt. Not actors, directors, writers...etc. This would be the first time, which is possible but hence.."Far fetched"
People were relating it to BLU because Spider-Man got his powers from being bitten, but Yoshida said in the Naoki Yoshida room segment on the Live Stream he mused ideas for BLU saying if it came out he would make it a solo job and maybe have some Professor Book or something? And that he was not putting it in any time soon...
Anyway, he never disclosed info like this on something if they are using it for hype.
I only saw it as dancer because the second my boyfriend saw the shirt he was pulling up the dance scenes from Spider-Man 3 and all the gifs of dancing Spider-Man we all always posting in our group chats lol. Plus in the older cartoons, and new ones..Spider-Man dances a lot to taunt and mess with his enemies. It's been a thing on the internet for a loooong time now.
Sure, Samurai has been hinted in game..it will be coming no doubt about that. I think it's gonna be DNC and SAM, just how 007 was for 2 jobs as well ^^

Can you provide a source to the 007 shirt. As everything referenced to it was for MCH. When he wore it, he even made a few gun references.
I don't believe the shirt was intended as any reference at all to AST. Many sites reporting it stated it was a completely unexpected announcement.

If you have access to that live stream or can find it you can most likely see it.
