Just wanted to say my final farewell to my friends from all FFXIV servers that I've met during my years.
Yoshidas decisions have officially made final fantasy XIV a game that is not meant for me anymore.

The jump potion was the last straw for me, how long can you actually go on punishing everyone that cares about Square Enix and FFXIV only for the sake of trying to recruit new players who might not even stick around as long as some of us have?

11 years of FFXI and beeing here since 1.0 holding in to the last hope of something good would come out of this finally proved I can't fit in this envoirment anymore.

I don't agree with Yoshidas decisions wich is pushing the buttons to make this game such a commercial gimmick instead of making it unique.
Someones visa/mastercard shows once again they can have what you have without lifting a finger. The same with how most of the content is and has been for 2 years along with how it continues to burn players out and rewards someone for slacking while disappointing anyone who puts any form of effort in.

This game will continue to go into a downward spiral and it breaks my heart to see something I loved so much slowly get destroyed more and more.

Good luck to you all patient enough trying to hold on in hopes of storm blood beeing something new and amazing. Sadly I feel it will just be a repeat of what we already have.

Once again thank you to all my friends that I've met through the years as a square enix mmorpg fan!

Most people here will just see this post as an attentionseeking thread but its not. This forum can't seem to think further than assuming each complaint automaticly puts you in the category as a hater, not knowing anything etc when you say something about the Glorious Senpai Yoshida. This also shows wich path this community is going. Overrun by people who can't accept that some people just don't like this game anymore but god forbid you say that before the white knight brigade pops out of nowhere that can't respect your opinion.

The veterans and old school players are slowly dying out for the sake of the new generation who rather not work for anything and get handouts for the tinest of things. All other MMORPGs are in that route it seems FFXIV could have taught and shaped the player into something different but Yoshida decides to adapt so I'm taking my leave. It is not a big deal I'm expressing my feelings. People that care about a brand and a game usually say something people who don't give a rats ass about anything would just quit. Clearly this forum can't understand this very well.

STOP THINKING THAT THIS JUMPING POTION IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS GOING TO POP UP AS A P2W FORMAT. THIS IS JUST THE START IT WONT STOP HERE. THIS IS A BUSINESS WHAT DO YOU GUYS EXPECT? IM SHOCKED THAT PEOPLE THINK THAT THIS WILL JUST END HERE BEFORE SE ALLOWS FURTHER OPTIONS BEEING ABLE TO BE BOUGHT THROUGH THE MOGSTATION THAT SKIPS CONTENT LEVELS ETC.

Ps: I'm pretty sure this new player that will get allt their jobs to level 50 thanks to their daddys credit card, that will stick around for 2-3 months is way more important than FFXIV core players that will be here so long cause you can always cycle through new players at the expense of the one who have been here the longest :>
Money is not always the answer when you are milking your brand so much that its loosing its whole heart.
Especially not when you pretty much just punished everyone that invested time in FFXIV by allowing everyone else have what people worked hard to acheive by a credit card swipe.

Pretty much the entire PS part was a strawman. They're also acting like this is suddenly going to make the game P2W. It's not.

Peopled who think jump potions are P2W have no idea what P2W actually means. Now if they got full Alex gear for 70 bucks, that would be different. But no, all they get to do is skip the tediously designed content of 2.0 and get into the vastly improved 3.0 and beyond. I had to do this climb myself (started a new non legacy character myself) and I can say that it's a pretty huge downer, and I've already done all of this stuff. To anyone who starts fresh and wants to join their friends, they can't until they slog through the MSQ. Jump Potions will allow people to reach the content in the game that actually matters, while providing revenue for Square which will allow them to further develop the game and increase on that very content. For every person who leaves without properly understanding this, I bet 5 or 10 more people will be willing to stay if they can actually play with their friends in the content that's currently relevant.

To be honest I m not really fond of SE business practices since heavensward, which was a very underwhelming expansion compared to 2.X

It is not just the jump potion thing its the whole envoirment of the game. The formula that we have for almost 2 years now that is refusing to change. The content that keeps burning everyone out putting us in the hamsterwheel category and so on. There is way more to say than just that but when I saw the jump potion that was the dealbreaker for me. Cause these are only signs of what might happen in the future. If this is allowed what do you think the next thing is? It won't just stop here no one can be that naive.

Who cares what they say. SE has said a lot of things but it either takes them 3+ years to actually DO it (and most of the time it's still somehow a major let down) or never do it at all. So many things have changed from what they have told us to "look forward to" that you'd be a fool to believe anything until it's actually active in the game.
