DF Tanks and Whm

If you're a good tank, no-one in DF will pull aggro from you. Even when full-on DPSing. If you lose aggro, its all on you.

If you've seen the amount of WHM and AST I've seen overhealing like mad you wouldn't say such a thing. Also yeah like others said healers like that don't know what Shroud is or care about their hate.

I even saw an AST use Collective right at the beginning of a fight for no reason and use a Diurnal Aspected Helios since obviously the Collectives 3500 HP a tick regen on everyone wasn't enough right /sarcasm lol, MT could no longer use anything but hate combos since the AST was right on his butt with hate because of senseless massive overhealing. Oh and this was without dropping tank stance...if he dropped it the AST would definitely have hate.

At this point you're just dealing with trolls doing this on purpose. Not your average DFer. They can get kicked and reported for griefing

Honestly I wish I could believe they are all just trolling, but I see healers spam and generate massive hate really often now and most WHM's I see never touch shroud. It's disheartening. I really doubt I am running into that many trolls...maybe some of them were.

Agreed. Over healing generates serious hate. I don't care how good of a tank you are, I can easily steal hate if I wanted spamming AoE heals on a topped party, or even topped tank and essentially kill myself and force a wipe. The really good tanks can remain competitive, but it is so difficult and makes them work so much harder. Even if you still can maintain hate and wear your tank badge high and proud, you shouldn't have to work that hard. DF is hard, yes. But it should not be THAT hard.

Spamming AoE heals when only the tank is taking damage is one of my biggest healer pet peeves. It is one of the few things that I will actually call players out on. Fortunately, it doesn't happen that much. In DF though, I take what I get, and only mention anything if something someone is doing is screwing up the run, or to discuss things after a wipe.

I always assume a tank who remains in defensive stance is feeling things out. I really don't care about his/her DPS output. Not in a PUG anyway. And I actually appreciate tanks who gets a feel for their group, especially their healer before kicking it into high gear.

Yeah, but if you have healers like that taking tank stance off just makes it even worse for only a small gain. You might clear it 30 seconds faster IF you don't end up dead and possibly wipe the group. 30 seconds isn't worth it since if you die or whole party wipes you lost the already small gain you tried to get and made it actually way slower clear rate.

I've seen too many healers in DF that cannot even keep tanks alive with tank stance on. I've seen MTs slowly die from no heals many many times (being main healer I scream on the inside when I am on DPS or OT and MT is dying and I can't heal them lol). Maybe your data center has more consistent healers so I mean if you have success with it go ahead, but in my experience seems not worth it to try.

That can actually depend. PLD and DRK, that tank stand is a built in 25% reduction in incoming damage - WAR is just a built in healing buff and more HP, so there is no reduction. If there's new players, or players being greedy and standing in bad, or just derping or even lagging, not having the stance on can contribute to a wipe. The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

Considering as a 257 pld, in just sword oath on a dummy, I can only stay at 1300 for 3:15 before running entirely out of TP, I'm not sure how you can expect this to be a normal thing in DF.
